In before the "I'm tired of these motherfuckin' snakes on the motherfuckin' elevator!!!" posts.

I'm so reminded of Minority Report watching that. Simply incredible and the music rules too

complete ripoff of "the new wave of mousing interfaces"...
granted, you can touch the screen in more than one area and have it read and respond to both simultaneously (OMG I NEED MORE HANDS! ), BUT, everything in that video (that doesn't require a touchscreen) has already been done, the various "file organization methods" IE : drawing a loop around the files and pulling it through to organize them, backwards to put them all back where they where, none of this is new, and the only thing that serves as a small saving grace is the aforementioned fact that you can indeed touch the screen in two places and have it respond to both.

hell, in the video i saw the dude actually showed a lot more functionality (maybe because of video length) but he showed functions not predominant here, such as throwing files (again nothing new there) you've been able to throw windows, just not files on most any nvidia based system for a while now via they're desktop enhancements thing hidden in the video control panel, my top of the list would have to be the way he showed you could use a letter string and specific mouse gestures to pull out certain files from a stack, and vice versa, scrolling through them like flipping through a book to change the order was another favorite goody.
all in all, this video should disappoint you if you know of the one i'm speaking of, now that is remarkable technology, something apple never will be.

I hate everyone, so you don't have to.

That seriously is awesome, but the only thing I though about for the entire demonstration is "Holy crap! How many graphics cards were used to render that?"

chev - you're an idiot if you truly believe what you just said.

[EDIT] i just looked, and i can't find the video showing nearly everything demonstrated in the first post, but it is out there, and this is nothing more than old technology with multi-touch tacked on, believe me, i'm not wrong. [/EDIT]

That's a pretty weak defense.

I could just as easily say "Heh,that's great. TDM being an ass because Chev is right, when he thinks he is."

See, mine also has no substance, but it sounds like something.

Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.

Well, considering no one really seems to like you, you're just giving him an excuse.

Maybe it should be.

People trying to rationalize their actions just before being banned are simply treading water in a toilet.

Will anything they've said on the matter have any value once the handle is dropped?

Well, it's like this...

A guy pulls a knife on me, I shoot him before finding out that the knife is a cheap piece of shit that couldn't cut the cheese.
Do you honestly think I'm going to stick around and try to save his life?

i'm not here to make friends, if i was then first i'd have to give a shit about at least one of you, i don't.

i am a brutally honest person, if you can't handle it, don't hang around me, it's a taurus trait, and quite frankly it gets me into trouble, the fact that i am still like this should tell you something about honesty, the simple fact is chev jumped on the "OMG, apple can do no wrong bandwagon" AKA the "apple is the industry leader in innovations" bandwagon, the truth is : apple is rehashing technology that has already been developed but not yet published or implemented, at least in this case.

[EDIT] scratch that first part actually, i consider sarge a friend, and jones is ok too. [/EDIT]

[EDIT #2] ok ok i don't want to edit this too much, but i like mister RoH also, hell i wouldn't mind knockin a few back with him, since we're both in oregon [/EDIT]

I hate everyone, so you don't have to.

"it's a taurus trait"?

You're going to blame being a dick on the stars?

I'm not really saying you are a dick... just... fuck, man. Take some responsibility.

And, um... Apple is the industry leader in design innovations. Their products often still suck, because they're not technically very good, but even the craziest anti-Apple zealot (that's you) should be able to recognize that bringing things like, oh, um, the FUCKING MOUSE to the market is pretty god damn significant, even if they were not the ones to invent it.

Freedom of speech is the basic freedom of humanity. When you've lost that, you've lost everything.

I'm not sure I'd qualify Apple as "the" industry leader as much as "an" industry leader. "Design" is a big place. "MP3 players", or maybe "WIMP-style GUI design" and "marketing", yes.
