Well, mine is moving at the speed that the earth rotates, so about 1,000 mph, and moving around the sun at about 67,000 mph, and then around the milky way at 559,234.073 mph.

So my pc is moving pretty fast.

and solve it for t using the quadratic equation(and for simplicity, we'll use Vo = 0
0 = g*t^2-h = (t+sqrt(h/g))(t-sqrt(h/g))
but t+sqrt(h/g) doesn't provide a real solution(given that it provides a negative time...
so...
|v(h)| = g*sqrt(h/g) = |sqrt(|hg|)|
but that's actually a relative equation. to make it absolute, we have...

v(h) = vo - |sqrt(|hg|)|

go test it. Hold your PC at a height of 10m, and drop it, it's final velocity will be about 10m/s(a little less, like 9.65m/s)

Gravity is 9.8 (9.80665 actually) meters per second per second (m/s²), whcih translates to 32.152134 (32.174174) feet/s².

at a height of 10 meters, traveling at 9.8m/s², It will take about 1.02 seconds to hit the ground. In the extra 0.02 seconds, the object will fall an aditional 0.196 meters (as at the 2nd second, the speed will be 19.6 meters per second)

So after falling 10 meters, the Instantaneous velocity would be about 9.996 meters per second when it hits.

Should bring about 113.4 newtons of force, that is if the pc weighs 25 lbs.

silly SSJ4 Gogitta,

everyone knows that the mass of an object (barring the density of the object is very close to the density of the fluid through which it travels) is non-influential on it's velocity.

Silly s0be, I never used the mass of the object to calculate the velocity. I used it to calculate the force it would have when it hit.

Force (N) = Mass (kg) * Acceleration (m/s)

11.33980925 kg * 9.996 m/s = 113.4 N

Once the new Intel Prescott processor is released (soon baby soon!) My friend will be buying the top of the line Alienware Area-51 with it in it and other components not selectable on the Alienware site (since I don't like everything they provide). And since I'm always chillin with her I get to use it as if it was mine.

So the specs will be something like this.

Intel Prescott 3+ Ghz with 800Mhz FSB
2GB DDR400 RAM
240GB Seagate Barracuda Serial ATA Hard Drive (RAID 0)
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB DDR400 RAM
Lite-On 52x24x52x CD-RW
Sony’s Internal DVD±RW Drive DRU500AX
Not sure which soundcard I want to get yet
Not sure which printer I want to get yet
Dell 18inch UltraSharp LCD Monitor

Total Price will be around 3,500 to 3,900 dollars.

as you can see from this professional graphic, g (a in this equation) or the acceleration incurred due to gravity can vary QUITE a bit. Since we have NOT limited ourselves to the surface of the earth(hence, dropping the objects) r in these equations can go to infinity.

on a side note... using that equation, you can set m2 to the mass of the planet you're on... AKA your mom.

And On that day, the Lords of the land said unto their Master Architect, "The temple you have made to the gods of Wasabi and Maki has brought us no great prosperity" and they sent out him into the lands.

As he traveled to a far off land, he found he wasn't traveling alone, but that he had gained companions, and when they found their new land, they started work on a new temple, one that would be OPEN to all who wanted to worship.
