No video when playing .avi

My problem is when I try to run an .avi file i get sound but no video. I've tried going to the video optiongs and uncheck the "allow video overlay". was hopeing someone knew what else could be done

using Winamp 5.08

Disregard this post.. i'm an idiot and didnt have DivX installed... or at least the newest version
