Give it a little dept , and beware of the volume slider, I think it will be unusable with this size...

Here are eq and thinger mockups they are mostly there. For the thinger it will work like my thinger in TGA. The eq is just missing some buttons. The ideas are there though.

i like how you have the basic options on the winshade mode. thats cool.
maybe make the control buttons a tiny bit bigger so theyre easier to find.

this skin would be cool on a low res screen

800X600 or less

with anything higher its just too small

maybe the buttons could stand out more?

e.g lighter blue colour

maybe you need your eyes testing

i'm running 1280x1024 on a 19" and it's fine for me.

really smart skin, leave the design as is. simpler is good.

Hey guys, that's what scaling is for

If you have a high enough resolution screen that you can't see the buttons, setting a skin to 200% doesn't look too bad at all.

I was away for a while.
But I'm feeling much better now.

I may not be able to put the cross, shuffle, and repeat on the winshade. I just remembered that that was a problem with the first skin I tried. Humm a special script at least unless they changed some things in the most recent beta. Oh well I'll have plenty of time over semester break.

Also does everyone understand the winshade icon. If you can see it

i dont think the cross fade and other buttons r necessary in winshade, i mean the only thing you need (i need) in winshade are the play stop and these other buttons, PL EQ TH and all these other stuff including repeat and shuffle are not that important in winshade, i guess (thats what i like)

anyways, they look good the way you put them in the screen shot!!

Here is what I got done real quick today. Due to the bug in TTF rendering the fonts only look right over black so the main window shot is on black. Scraped some things out of winshade as they aren't relly needed there and would make things much harder. I probably will try a kjofol style eq or I may do one like the picture above.

Well anyway here are the screens:

wow i am realy looking forward to using this..

one suggestion..

if you can see you are not using the right corner of the main window, i don't know if it is intentional, but you may add a button or twoo there decreasing the number of buttons at the button center. but i dnpt know if this would look good, anyways other than that it is very very nice.,

I'm not sure I follow. The space on the far left of the main window is for the volume control. There is a 20 X 10 block of space next to the eq on the right but what are you sugesting I put there or do I not read you right.

too simple of a solution. I vote that he has to write a custom sized one for EVERY VESA compliant res. Screw scaling. Too much work on the (L)users part.

Here is a screenshot of the latest progress:

Got the volume in place I still thing I might want to try it upside down (like my drawing at the begining) but the script would have to be modified. The studio, menu and component parts of the skin are 90% done now. Have to put in the seek slider and do the eq which will be the hardest part I expect.

Still only looks good on black due to the the desktopalpha big with TTF. The components don't display right at all with desktopalpha on (the pl for instance remains hidden and click the pl button creates multiple instances of the pl) this is a bug I would guess.

Yes it works but no one gets it till I have a chance to clean it up and put in the aforementioned stuff.

It will not funtion totally as it should until beta 3 I think.

It the blue colour hard-coded, or can it be changed with the colour controls?

I guess "Blue Pill" is a catchier name than "Grey Pill That Can Actually Be Made Any Colour Using Colour Controls"

You can still make it most other colors you just have to offset the blue first.

Anyway I am working on the eq now. Almost got the script nailed down, I'm just waiting for permision. I may release something this weekend, but it won't really look right till beta3.

Well if I get permision on the script I modified then this is basicly what it will look like. Only thing left to do is the minibrowser which is easy. [edit]Just checked my mail Steve is cool with using part of his script so this IS what it looks like.[/edit]

ThePlague your skin is original finish it if for no other reason the scripts (It will make a excellent example for others), there will always be better artists (not me) like jasonl and kinwashi to show everone up. But I have a feeling that eventually funtionallty trumps looks.

Thanks for all the complements. I'll have to post a working version of the skin soon so I can get the bugs out.

Well I quickly wipped up the minibrowser. Here is a zip (attached) for testing purposes. This in not a finished deal yet still needs some work on some of the graphics. Let me know of any problems you have with it.

Known problems are:
True Type Fonts are clear when desktop alpha is on (in the zip it is on).

The components get totally screwed up if you turn desktop alpha on (in the zip it is off for them).

For space and copyright reasons Arial.ttf was not included but is referenced in the files this could lead to some problems but I haven't found any.

Note: Desktop alpha only works on certain os at this point I think.
