Stop Winamp gracenote lookup when pressing "view file info"

Under General Preferences I have set Internet Connection to "Not connected to the internet".

In Plug-ins, Nullsoft CD Plug-in configuration I have unticked "Use MusicID".

And yet, here is my problem. When I press Alt-3 or go to File, View file info... Winamp hangs for about 20 seconds, and looking at my firewall it seems to be pinging CDDB Inc/Gracenote Inc.

Disabling my firewall is not an option.

Anyone?

idk if that's true, but why not remove the gracenote related dlls?

I use it sometimes to create filenames from CDs.

Looks like it was a bug though, just retried enabling/disabling the features and it works fine now.

Gracenote should only do the look up once, provided there's no problem writng to the local D/B.
So next time around it can get the info without going on the net again.

can anyone confirm its true tho that under normal circumstances alt+3 will ping gracenote? why would it do that?
