I could imagine adding an additional context menu entry like Hide/Show Reflection on Panels so the Main Player for example would look like this:
But removing the panels entirely from the skin is definitely a No-Go! |

There is a discussion about the ability of stopping playback while listening to an audiobook and resuming it to a later point of time. The most elegant solution to that request was installation of an additional plug-in which would provide such feature.
But actually, this should not be a problem to create a new TRACK BOOKMARKS window which would provide some SET BOOKMARK buttons and GO TO BOOKMARK buttons. Clicking on the first one would save the file's name and thumb's position and the second ones would allow to jump into the saved time marker. The question is: what would be the most convenient way to create such feature? |

Ah! That's cool, I thought you were thinking about using internal bookmarks feature (which would not do it).
In fact, your method would be good too for saving other kind of entries.. (thinking.. thinking..) |

Multiple track bookmarks is the only thing that comes to my mind.
P.S. My last "real" CD Player had a A-B Repeat feature. Would this be useful? ![]() Update: we have a winner! The command seekTo() makes the progress thumb jump into the time value set in brackets. Yes! ![]() Update2: both commands work flawlessly: getPosition() remembers the thumb's position and seekTo() makes the thumb jump into this value. We are good to go ... ![]() |

Hmm.. I was thinking about bookmarking entire Albums (which the internal bookmark feature can't do), but getting the name of the album (trough tags) or the file path doesn't help actually.. ![]() Cool! |

But what would be the advantage of having bookmarks for albums while we can save playlists?

No, it does not because we cannot play audio files using script lines. There is this System.playFile() command, which, unfortunately, does not work. This would be the perfect solution because the file name and position of the thumb could be saved and played anytime just by a click of a button. Winamp would start playing the file and the progress thumb would jump into the saved time value.

A short update. I have been working on a Track Bookmarks feature which will look like this:
It will provide three SET and GO buttons so you can save up to three bookmarks for a track. Unfortunately, we cannot have a button which would start a particular song and make the progress/seek thumb jump into the saved position. We still have to "manually" launch a file (for example an audio book) and then hit one of those GO buttons, which will make the progress thumb jump into previously saved positions. |

Excellent work! A few years down the road and this is still one of the best skins out there. I love it!

I have a question:
What would the perfect Track Bookmarks window look like? What options/functions/buttons should it provide in order to satisfy a user's needs? |

A slightly modified Track Bookmarks window containing GO buttons, which start a song and make the Seeker jump into the previous saved position:
Another short question: there are two possible options how tracks are enqueued in the Playlist Editor: either at the end of the existing playlist or at the top after clearing the list? Which one is more comfortable? |

I went even further and added a CLEAR PL button which will allow to either enqueue the saved bookmark at the end of the current playlist (being played in the Playlist Editor) or remove the playlist and put the bookmark at the top of the empty Playlist Editor. I also redesigned the Color Theme window a little bit. Initially, I was going to stretch the window so it would be as wide as the other two on the screenshot. The problem was that the blue background was not as wide as the window. It was shorter, looked silly. So I went back to the old width. And grabbed once again the Playlist Directory since I find it so handy to have all saved playlists just two clicks away. I think I am going to keep it. ![]() |

@Victhor
There are some additional text lines in the Visualizer Context Menu in Bento: Those lines are created by adding visMenu.addCommand("Presets:", 999, 0, 1) to the script. Do you know if it is possible to create such "description lines" in the Main Context Menu using attributes? |

Mmmm.. If you haven't already seen that on another skin, then it's probably not doable. For certain I haven't seen it before.

I am also working on an additional Playlist Editor2, which will provide a bunch of new (and hopefully) useful new features. This should be especially interesting for all users with huge playlists.
The first draft looks somehow like this: |

I would not say "in love". I was aware of this file but never knew how to "grab" typed in values in an edit box in order to make this particular library finally useful. I could not find anything on the forum, Dr.O meant I should use get.Text(), which could not stop giving me the annoying error message made by the compiler that getText() is not "...a member function nor an event ...". Until I realized that the global variable declaration of my edit box was set to guiObject instead of edit. Now we are talking! ![]() In the "light of these events" we could now remove/delete/get rid of the entire Options part of the main context menu and create an Options Center in which user would type the values instead moving his mouse over many menus. |

But I could have a look at Ebonite and the approach, how the frames are transparent while the playlist is not. |

You should, because no alpha blending on containers-with-components is a known skin engine limitation. IIRC it's solved / hacked by using 2 containers separated but sync'ed. Check it out. |

Now this is going to be tough! As if it was not enough that I lost my playlist and Media Library content after adding alphabackground, also Video- and Vis- windows are empty.
Further more, the skin clearOne seems to be buggy and I cannot understand/follow how the trick is done (=synchronization). The same approach on Ebonite is, on the other hand, awfully complex, contains a bunch of corrections made by different skinners, which are not too helpful. So for now I would like to keep the shadows I have already added and keep in mind the synchronization trick. (while moving the Playlist Editor around on the desktop I can tell, that these two parts - frame and playlist - do not belong together. It is like one always follows the other. There is a subtle but visible delay. Apparently this is the disadvantage of this "tweaking"). And I changed the look of the Album Art window, which now can be docked to other windows: |

Indeed, it's a nasty hack that's been around for ages, here someone felt more or less like you before.. (found it today looking for another kind of sync that is not working for me now heh..), it may be worth the read..

2) Do you know where I can get the T3 skin? Is it this one? Or is it a deviation from the original one may by rpeterclark? 3) Is Big Bento going to be transparent? ![]() |

I really feel like adding such gorgeous looking cd boxes like this or this one. But what would be the perfect size for such bitmap? I do not think that adding the ability of stretching Album Art window is the perfect solution here and creating several different sizes would unnecessarily blow up the entire skin - what already happened after adding the shadow backgrounds - sort of. ![]() |

Now this was fun! I got the CD Box and CD Sleeve I was talking about the other day. Both turned out pretty well, the size is, as many things, debatable. (there is still the scaling option). And I think I will add both of them to the OPTIONS while keeping the "old fashioned" Album Art window.

Call me anal but the proportions of the jewel case are wrong (the ribbed part of the tray is thinner, 12mm or 1/10 of the disc diameter), and if the right one's supposed to be a sleeve it should be bigger than the disc.
