Squeezebox keeps droping..

I am running a media ser er using shoutcast and winamp to broadcast across my work (and others). But for some reason squeezeboxes drop at random times called logitech but they whined that i'm not using slimserver..

I can hit any other PC just fine and it will play none stop. any idea why it may drop?

i'm broadcasting at 48kbps mp3 so i don't think it's bandwidth issue.

i have a SB2 and i use SN and SBS and i run the remote streams for my station.

simply put, squeeze SUCKS at maintaining a decent connect to my shoutcast streams.

i have tried lots of differing config methods, and i can't get it to be reliable and robust. meanwhile my wireless laptop with winamp rarely has an issue. (i'm not saying it never works, i'm just saying its never predictable as to when it will or won't)

i suggest you post in the SB forums.

what actual settings do you have for your mp3 stream ?

48kbps, ?? Khz ?,

Some devices I have used in the past have for some reason not like a combination of khz for some bitrates. Why I have no idea, but also make sure it is not MP3Pro, and knock it down to say 48kbps, 22.050khz (if not already).

Also, you say random, but is it a song change ? do you have an intro on the stream, or at a particular song ?

It is actually exactly at that you said (48kpbs and 22,050khz)

But nope, Just random, well 15 seconds after it actually dies (15 second buffer on it)

Someone who decided to help thinks it is the Sonicwall that it is behind.

Anyone have experience with these?

i have 3 streams at my station, a 128 and 96 at 44.1 stereo, and a 32 and 22.05

i have the problem on all 3 streams on my SB gear. they basically brush off my complaints, and i'd suggest that they either don't care, or can't reproduce, or both.

did u post in squeeze forums? if so plz link here.

Right here my friend.

Starting to think it's the Sonicwall, as a local internet radio (professionally run) was dropped as well.

Sorry on the double post, was wondering if anyone else here had an idea on what could be the cause of this issue.

Does anyone here have experience with a Sonicwall router? over on the squeezbox forums they think that could be the cause..
