It would appear so Dawg, but in reality they all carry the same weight if ya do the math (correctly). Eh hem ... even tho the winamp staff "rating" is total SH!T. :sigh:

I also just found out that, as the ratings stand, when I changed mine to a 5 to see what would happen, you got 4 stars, and when I finally gave it the 4 I'd been leaning towards, you still had 3.5. so where does that make the rollover point now?

Just tryin to help

Ok I'd like to apologise. I was rating all the skins in the 'post your links please' thread, and after the tenth or so skin...you know how it is. So, sorry for that...and the fact that I accidentally gave BathTile Bleu 0 stars (I intended to give it 5 ). So once again...my apologies.

Not changing the review though. I still think it's a good , decent skin, but it somewhat lacks imagination and creativity ( btw the skin does leave something TO the imagination...but that's a whole other subject )

so I hope that this is enough feedback for ya I hope it's settled now.

The stars are fine amp (I assume that is what you meant by 'Not changing the review though') ... I would never debate your internal reviewing standard. It's a personal thing. Thanks for giving a few more words tho.

If anyone ever feels rating fatigue, stop and get refreshed before you continue. Keep in mind ... people work very hard on these skins sometimes. The least you can do is give them 5 minutes of your time to explore it fully.

Sorry to dredge this topic up again, but ...

I gots a gripe.

Can someone please tell me how (5+3+5+?)/4 = 2.5???

Even if the ? = 0 the overall rating would still be a 3.25 by my 'real world' math. Granted, I don't have the technical know-how to derive winamp math functions. I'm sure they're advanced far beyond my abilities.

So is this a glitch in the system I should contact admin over, or is this for real?

Have a look. I think this skin is destined to be a knife in my back for life. ::sigh::

I already told Admin about it on my skin, but sofar all I have heard back was "Damn CO" and nothing was done about it.....I'll tell 'em about Nikki too.

Perhaps, Lower ratings are weighed heavier or at a higher average based upon the mean average for the skin rounded down....for example:

Lets assume that the ratings are like this:

Neg. Counters
1 = -.4
2 = -.3
3 = -.2
4 = -.1
5 = -.0

Pos. Counters
1 = +.1
2 = +.2
3 = +.3
4 = +.4
5 = +.5

If I had 10 Ratings on a Skin:
---> 5+3+1+3+5+5+3+1+5+5
39 Points Divided by 10 Ratings = 3.9
(-.2)3 + (-.4)2 = - 1.4
Score Shift: 3.9 - 1.4 = 2.5

Well, scratch the positive counters idea...They stand for the total base from which to calculate from. But, I do belive they use some kind of weighting system similar to what I said for the negative counters.

It at least would seem so...
