too much gimmick for me.

Same here
Seems pointless as a plugin. Yeah! Winamp is able to read anything! But what for?

because some people may funnily enough want it? (personally i don't but i'm certain there are people who will). remember, what's pointless to one person (like podcasts and predixis for me) is not for others. choice, that is really what it's all about at the end of the day

This sounds cool! I had this idea a while back when I found I could use FFDShow to show .jpg's in the video window. It was a bit buggy, sometimes the images wouldn't show, but I had a list of wallpapers in the playlist and showed them. But I know nothing about making plugins. Can't wait for the first release!

just few word : after internal showing (arround 10 personns) they found it...strange cause they don't use it from the beginning ...but after they love the easy management 3D effect panorama and so on... in this post we soon launch the "local version if you want" as JTFE and "playlist file remover" of winamp internationnalization...soon soon sooon

Alexandre Genoud (french C++ genius) work on it

the next project is more than huge and more that exciting

no it's no as easy as you say (you can imagine that we already use the sdk for building the plugin)

...and the shell integration is not a necessary for final user. It depend of the core of winamp.

PS the thread dedicated to internationnal version will be on a new thread, as soon as it's possible !

PS2 please send me a private message

enbedding the current contents of the picture window in an ml page should be pretty simple. as for shell integration you can handle drag and drop onto a ml page (the ml provides a few apis for that) and you can then send the dropped files into the playlist editor, etc as needed. all of which can still be done in the same gen_* that it currently is (see ml.h for the relevant apis for another plugin to add a ml_* interface in)

ok DrO but....we try without success (asks to Benski about it) to have the same right menu as audio/video files. i.e. : right clic open with winamp /enqueue with Winamp > open or enqueue in the image'inw winamp window. Because Winamp core impose a opening in the playlist window.....we hope to change that soon with some dev in Nullsoft team

(sorry for my uggly english)

Or you could compile your app as a standalone exe and handle your own shell interface? I believe this is what ive been barking at all along.

glop, are you seriously suggesting that benski should divert his time to putting an image viewer with little more functionality than explorer on windows xp into winamp?

Perhaps im missing the logic here.

i was still a bit unsure about wanting to force all images through to your window instead of to the playlist editor. if it's that much of an issue you can detect playlist editor changes and then remove the playlist entries for the images as required and move them to your window. you'd need to do a scan on winamp load if it's done initially without winamp being loaded though really it's going against the current winamp shell integration options (which could be confusing to the user if they drag a image onto winamp and if the picture window isn't open and have no related playlist entry for it).

but like craig said, an external app to handle the context menu is possibly a better way around without slowing winamp down to crawl as could happen if you do too much on the playlist change notification

@craigF : i don't compile in an exe, it's a plugin (it almost finished, it's not the moment to change) . 2)it's not at all this way ! I don't demand anything to benski. He have nothing to do, forget what i said.
from the beginning you are against this plugin !! please try when it's come out. and explorer XP is ugly. Logic is to made a full multimedia software
3) you are really 120 % evil

@dro : mm no it's near the end we want a plugin, not one executable app !. i can give it to you , we try without success
