Xerxes, I'm confused. Your Avatar, title and all confuse me, or is this sarcasm.
Not that it's an important factor, but I'm curious to know.

Oh, and Iran is probably next for the machine anyway.

Like someone else here also stated, I hate to be right. That's exactly the sort of news I was afraid of. You see people who took a moderate viewpoint as muslims turning into radicals. Saw these pictures where Jordaniens are getting over to Iraq to fight ? How can you expect anyone in this region to be moderate, if ths US decides to support and fight countries and dictators at their own will, without approval from the UN or most other countries, not to speak of world population. I'm pretty sure on how I would feel in this situation.

When Saddam is dead, then the arab world has two myths: Bin Laden and Saddam. Now that's exactly what's going to calm down the situation.

No doubt: The US will will the war. But I'm still very sceptical (too say the least) that they will win peace afterwards.

Gorgeus: yeah i said that...

Man, i hope it will atleast at this level, you can't hardly blame them for doing it, when they are on the axis of evil list, and most likely is next, as the US, very conviniently have troops in the area

People who thinks this war will be over soon, have to remember - if the US is consistant in their policy, they have a few other wars to fight before they go home, and we can all be happy.

- Ayatollah Khameni
Troops: 18,868,571

- Than Shwe
Troops: 12.993.745

- Fidel Castro
Troops: 3,786,553

- Kim Chong-il
Troops: 3,619,535

- Robert Mugabe
Troops: 1,898,383

- Muammar Qadhafi
Troops: 890,783

And then we have China (But that's hardly realistic)
- Hu Jintao
Troops: 203,003,036

All leaders who either have, are trying to produce or have attempted to buy WMD's

All leaders who supress their population, and are systematicly killing their political opponents.

All leaders with strong anti US sentiment

Bilbo.. what 3 months of diplomacy?
they were only trying to snatch in any possible way a UN resolution to legalize their agression.. of course it had nothing to do with 'trying' to find a peaceful letout. Simply because Iraq started indeed destroying missiles as inspectors ordered till the last day before the ultimatum.. why when just things moved to action the agression desicion was suddenly accelerated? simply for the war decision not to be completely uncovered.

Plus.. as Gorgeus pointed out.. what peace are they talking about? can't you read the news? the anti-us sentiments are boiling not only in the Middle East now, but in all islamic countries.. what peace of mind will it bring to people in here?

Perhaps it suggests something about the backwards nature of some sections of Islam?

or perhaps you don't realize how Islam penetrates every aspect of life in those countries, and how it binds it followers in a brotherhood, which is not necesarily a bad thing. The mindless consumerism of the west is certainly not a better option anyway.

I tend to agree that the war was decided beforehand, and there was nothing Iraq could have done to help it.

I for one would have difficulties disarming - if someone I knew would declare war against me, were preparing for an attack right outside my borders.

yes Bilbo it does in fact. and I personally don't endorse much such aspects. But what is happening here that it's not ONLY about islamic societies.. look at Spain, Italy, Russia, Japan, and even inside UK and the US. It's a general street feel against it, in spite of all the pro-war media. this is why again I can't see really how this will bring any peace to the region or even to the world.

I agree with you ertmann about the war being planned ahead. Let's remember what the US has said before the war started: even if Saddam leaves we will enter Iraq. Enough said.

It's even by Mr. Fleischer himself. So, that's what I call proof.
