Just how big A Music Collection do you have?

Was just wondering on this as I have been loading a lot of my Music onto my new comp. today.

I currently have about 9.12gig's of wav's & MP3's loaded, with about another 20-25 gig's to go. Thats all the music I have at home at the moment but when I get my other CD case back (I left it at my mate's) thats about another 25-30 gig's (all mp3's!).
I also have access to about 100gig's plus from a drive out of an old Naps... Server ( :whistles: ) [Again all mp3's]

So I was wondering what size a collection you have?

You could also post your favourite playlist...of say 5 tracks...I'll post mine in a bit...

Shouldn't this be in the Music forum?

My computer's hard drive is only 40 GB. So, I have around 25 GB of music on it. I still have another 100 CDs un-ripped. Plus, from DC++ and other people, I have a ton of music I could get, but don't have the space.

2.44 GB

The world is made of conflicts: good and evil, order and chaos, light and dark, hot and cold. All are essential to life. None can prevail for any length of time, or life will fail. In the end, the best any can hope for is balance.

Top 5 At the Moment - In No Order

1. Helloween - If I Could Fly
2. Orgy - Ficton
3. Theatre of Tragedy - Image
4. Eminem - Doe Rae Me
5. Simple Plan - Perfect

Yeah, I got a random sense of music favorites. I don't limit myself against genres because it ain't hip or anything. If I like the song, I like it, fuck the genre.

I've got about 450 CDs, but only a 60 GB HD cartridge I use in my car and at home, so that's only about 160-180 albums I can encode in FLAC, plus a few more on my PC's local HD. I've got about 70 GB encoded currently...maybe 190 albums worth, in all.

I'll be investing in a 250 GB external (firewire) drive soon (since my PC's a notebook), so then I can encode everything.

Here are my playlists, just what's encoded anyway.

I'm a psychosomatic sister running around without a leash.

Egg has a warehouse in his back garden. Complete with racks and forklift.

God knows how much GB you'd need to get it all on computer (not to mention the time). If you need any help Egg, give us a shout (I accept beer as payment).

25gb mp3 files on this system
about 500 vinyl ( lp's)
about 2000 vinyl ( singles =7")
about 200 vinyl ( 12")
about 7500 tapes ( cassettes)
about 25 big tapes for a tape deck

used to have 5000 albums on vinyl and about 20.000 on 7 " but the guy that broke into my house thought he needed them more than me!
and a devorce also doesn't do much good for the collection when the ex mrs steals everything from you ( did cost me another 250 albums and several cd's)

currently playing on spaceplayradio - see sign - my playlist.( it could be a little out of date- every day i add about 20 albums)

Each Thursday a new show on Celtica Radio with Darkwave music.

Here's what I currentlt have loaded to my computer. A lot of these are wav's so there taking up a lot of Space. I'll take time out to convert them to mp3 but they need a lot of sorting first as to what I'm gonna use...
Anyway thats about 1 case done....

15 gb for music…..I’ve video files(mainly of boy-bands) more than audio files in my computer and most of them are downloaded…... So I don’t rip much…..just keep the songs of some selected bands and singers, which I listen regularly, ….so I need the CD’s (approximately 400) to listen to the rest.
Need to buy a CD-writer.....

All pop music is good music but all good music isn't pop music
Wanna know more about pop music or my boy-bands?

Somewhere around 30GB of mp3s and around 200 CDs. Most of my CDs are ripped already, so I don't expect my mp3 collection to grow substantially at this point.
