Umm, it seems to still be snowing around the logo in Winamp Forumland... oh and it says 2.71 is the latest too. Come on! lol

Release is imminent, I can feel it:

Gets what? Note the main page of winamp.com has a definite lack of snow on the logo in the upper left hand corner. Also, on the upper right hand it says "Download Winamp 2.72". Now note the forums page. The snow is still on the logo, and the download link says "Download Winamp 2.71

heh?

Yeah, but the links!
Would be nice if those would be linked to the correct location.

Attention:

The release of Winamp3 has been postponed another 3 days due to all efforts being reapplied to correct minor defects in the forums page.

Thank you,
Mngmnt.

[edit] "You guys'll make great mother-in-laws someday"? I'd like to see how that happens [/edit]

True. Snow/no snow, not important.

But the other items are valid. When a software developer releases an upgrade, they should do a global search of their website's pages, and insert the new version number wherever needed. Standard procedure. Common sense. There is no point in having links if the captions are not kept current.

Similar nuisances: the obsolete release date, the forum background colors, and the omission of Windows ME and 2000 from the first paragraph on the main page. All mentioned previously. All not fixed yet.

The problem is not that fixing these trivial problems would take Steve or Jonathan or whoever away from more important stuff, or delay Winamp 3 (huh?). You would think that Steve or whoever should be able to delegate these minor items to a competent part-time assistant/proofreader/webpage artist. The ludicrous aspect is that a billion-dollar corporation, who obviously intends Winamp to be part of their package to compete with Microsoft and Real, apparently can't loosen the Nullsoft budget strings enough for such an assistant to be hired.

It'll actually take at least another 10 days to fix!

Steve left for New York yesterday for a visit.
