Enqueing via "J" Key menu - Page 25

One thing I would like to see is the ability to stop playing at the end of a queue, so if I enqueue 6 songs and hit shift-ctrl-V or whatever at the end of the 6 songs it will stop playing.

Please?

Omnislash: take the maybe as a yes and it'll be in there along with options to close winamp/windows down as well

Dextro: yes the english was right though i think you may have rabies and need to get medical help asap!

as for when, things have been slow (due to personal things) and also the way the plugin works with winamp has changed in the current 5.04 alphas so it fixes the queue issues with in_mpg123 more safely *but* it's now version dependant at the moment. once i've updated the code again to the new code (just in the final stage of fixing bugs in the shuffle code - was working fine before the winamp changes) then i'll back port the relevant code to the old *hack* for older versions.

so the simple answer is when i can get it done and out (but personal life has to come first

)

In an ideal world, yes.
But we all know that there's really no such thing.

There's no real excuse for people with older/slower machines not to use 5.x (without Modern Skin & CD Burning/Ripping support, etc).
Maybe the only valid reason is for a separate minibrowser window, which was known to be by far the least used/popular Winamp 2.x component anyway.
And there's certainly no excuse for 5.x users not to upgrade to the latest 5.x version.

But if DrO wishes to support older versions, then so be it.

ps. the new version is gonna rock!

as DJ Egg said, it's never that easy. luckily most things in jtfe will work in whatever version of winamp going back a few years afaik (i tried an early version on 2.6x or 2.7x and all was fine).

since the main bulk of the *hack* code is in there, it shouldn't be too hard to re-fix it to work with the new changes. though it won't be a fully supported part of the code since the new way is far more l33t

no it's not been requested. hmm, if i did that it would be a hack and i'm not really sure how useful something like that would be.

i also know some people may like the little extra feature that's been added but i'll say no more than that

well in my case, i've got a shortcut key that brings up the jump to file dialog. i also happen to have doubles of songs sometimes or misnamed ID3 tags that don't match files.. so i'd mostly like to be able to check/edit file info and/or remove the file, or change the playlist entry. all of that stuff is in the playlist's context menu, which is why i asked for that in particular

I'm currently using winamp 5.3 and cheering the enquueing options provided by JTFE v0.94te.

My only quam at the moment is the Load Playlist Into Queue function- has anyone else had trouble with this?

Most of the time I click it and it doesn't bring up a browser window, on the odd occasion that it does I click a playlist and nothing happens. I'm not too sure what this function does but I was hoping that it would create a small cued list of songs in amongst my much larger playlist, simply dubbed ALL, as though I had individually selected and queued each song. Am I missing something?

I'm not too sure if you've already addressed this DrO but this thread does span 25 pages and I didn't search it too hard. I'd be happy to know what's going on here.

it's known as sloppy coding on my part though it worked for me when i first added it so i guess bug fixes elsewhere stopped covering for it, is funny how they do that

but i had a bit of fun with the msvc dialog editor and psp to make up this.

need some feedback on the layout since i'm not sure on the best way to implement it for useability, etc. tweaks, comments and the like are welcome (hint hint)

it looks good the "timed queue" box is similar/same as the enqueue tab so i think everyone will understand that part

the "settings" box is great! i had a suggestion for picking which days of the week you could set it to...but ill assume thatll be under "custom" (like weekdays vs weekends etc.) the clock is perfect.

Questions:
1. does each different timed queue item have its own settings? like if you want one song played now, but in an hour your want a different song
2. what does "on finish" do?

Otherwise time queue is a great idea...

i knew something was missing, i think that should be a default option, custom was just for anything else that pops up with things, just nothing definite at the moment.

#1: yes, each item has it's own settings
#2: stop on end, n stuff will go for that as a drop down menu like previewed earlier for the main prefs
