*I get about a 10 sec delay in eq settings or effects to take place*

For instance if I adjust the eq it will take exactly 10 sec for the change to take place?
Where can I go to tweak it so the effect will take place alot sooner.

Thanks for the help.

Turn down your buffer settings. I'd put money on you having a buffer set at 10 seconds.

When you change your EQ it has to run through the buffer before the song hits the EQ'ed parts.

Send a message via ICQ to gas-attack
Ctrl+P -> Plugins -> Output -> d-click "DirectSound..." -> Buffering. Here you can set the buffer lengths. The EQ changes will take place exactly after one buffer length has past. But don't set your buffer to 0. U should set it to 500-1000ms.

Note: Problem could also be caused by latent crossfade buffer in out_ds, if built-in crossfader is enabled (eg. in Winamp Modern skin > Config drawer -> EQ).

Only way to prevent this is to lower/disable crossfader.
