Gracenote 2.0?

I've searched looking for answers to the question, but I can't seem to find any.
If it's there somewhere, sorry for this "double" post.

The only thing I seem to find is Gracenote being mentioned as something that needs to be removed/replaced (not just one of these options....)

And my question is basically:
What's the goal?
1. To get a new license for Gracenote?
2. To replace Gracenote?
3. To remove?

As for this being a wish section of the forum..
I wish for either "option" 1 or 2.
