Ultrashock Skin released

Because publishing a skin on WinAmp.com takes *forever* (hehe),
we released our cool skin on our own site (Ultrashock.com).

Click on the preview to download it:

Let me know if you like it!

wow!

Before Download: I wish mine were this good. Absolutely sharp. Too sweet.!! I love it!!

AFter Download: Still awesome, I got a couple of problems with it.
1. you could've done the play list buttons better. They're too much like the base skin when pressed and it screws up the design.
2. I don't like the MB buttons, they don't match the rest of the skin.
3. On the playlist extension it says "All your music are belong to us"... way bad grammer y0.

Other than those 3 things... can we talk you into skinning Mikro and Mbinner?
This is definitely a keeper.

If anyone can find any of the skins I made please email them to Forevever@aol.com
I can't remember all the names but specifically hunting for Lascivious, and DEVOUR (compilation with Jax) and any in the Impulse series which had 6 total. Auriferous, Gilt, Impulse, Nadir, and 2 others I can't remember but you dig.

Looks like that are personal problems and not technical... About the grammer: we have our reasons to put it like that

Thanks for your comments though.

No problem. However, just to be clear, winamp skinning is personal. Like Mr J says, skin for yourself first
The technicalities of the MB buttons, that don't match when pressed, and the PL buttons that don't match when pressed, to me, would be worth fixing. But hey, its your skin.

Nice skin!
I like your use of transparency.
Can't find many bugs, exept from in the easteregg title bar, the text gets cut off because of the transparency.

Hint to Forever 'bout the bad grammar

1 2 3 4 5

This sentence is a lie!

I think it was before her time. dipshit hackers.

Nice skin pete, but just not quite my style. One thing I would have liked with such a radical transparency is a milder continuation of the shape in the EQ. But whatever. Like I said, nice work (obviously) nonetheless.

Chillout people...

If the phrase bothers you, don't read it. It is not a big deal, but it is the way it is and I have the distinct feeling it is not going to get changed. No reason start flaming about it.

I think it is a good skin, although I never really liked transparencies, I like the skin to be full.

Jesus Christ Justin, what the hell? Have a bad day at work? Get over it - it's a joke, from when winamp got hacked a while back. It's funny. At most it's still nothing to warrant a fuck off and a stomach ulcer.

Bad grammar is nothing to be proud of but if you all can read up a few posts, I said I liked the thing.
I only made the mistake of thinking that Peter wanted honest feedback, instead he calls it a personal problem. Well alrighty then. Dont ask next time.

Lately, everyday is a bad day at work. They made some changes to get new people to move around and I'd rather be shot then to explain everything on how downstairs is different than upstairs, especially when they are so stubborn, and lately it's been like walking on eggshells anyway. But that's not why I wrote that, I wasn't trying to be offensive....My friends and family always said I was "a little harsh" I wasn't that angry, don't take it as a flame, just the way I am I guess. Sorry.

Being a youngun, as you are (fact, not flame), I can't imagine you understand the concept of presentation.

If Einstein walked into an appliance store today, he would be considered a moron, because he was too smart to know how to work a toaster.

If PeeWee herman walked into a kindergarten class, he would be considered a genius.

What does bad grammar say to me? Lack of intelligence, lack of understanding, lack of caring... one or more of those things, not necessarily all of them, and NONE of them being endearing qualities in my book. However, I do not judge strictly on grammar, I judge on the reaction obtained from an individual who has his/her grammar corrected.

In this case, PeterNRG had a specific reason for putting that statement there. I can only make my own assumptions to his motive... none of which are good ones.
The skin however, shows excellent ability, much forethought, and sense of style. Which is the only reason I thought I could take the initiative to correct him in the first place.

Sadly, very sadly mistaken, I was.

Alfred P. Mitchell,

A homeless bum and evidently a westinghouse winner always greets me with a quote, when I bring him something to eat. He says, "In our own torture do we define each others motives." For his case he was referring to his choice to be homeless and how I looked upon such a brilliant man that had made a choice to do what he was doing.

Likewise for originator of this thread. And those that see that his statement is derogatory.

very neat... I like the dark gray and yellow combo. It reminds me of hippy's Futurist. Good use of transparency. Good work!

Forevever: Yes, while presentation is important, the "bad grammar" in this case is not bad grammar, but a honest-to-goodness cultural tagline. The way "Show me the money" kept getting shouted or bastardised a few years ago. The way "Whasssup" is currently a cultural catchphrase. Peter was not reacting to your rebuke in his grammar, because there was none. (I fail to see why you are getting upset at him for not wanting honest feedback.)

The phrase is a bastardisation of a English-Japanese mistranslation of a video game. It became a fad to use this phrase in conjunction with many things, including advertising. In fact, Peter's use of that phrase implies a certain level of pop culture knowledge and is just a fun inside joke for those who catch the reference.

Peter: One thing I'd recommend would be to lighten the grey of the text on the playlist editor. Against the black it is hard to read. Perhaps lighten it to the same colour on the buttons, or the frequency numbers. I'd also recommend changing the larger Ultra Shock text on the main window to match the text on the EQ and playlist editor. I think it would look more consistent and distract less. Great job, otherwise.

I know where the phrase came from. And the others you mention, and several more you haven't mentioned.
They only serve to confirm the serious degradation of society in general.
And as much as I like Rev - I think a millionaire who chooses to live in a cardboard box, is a moron.

Thinking Forevever is a serious type 'A' with control issues. Grammar, while important to commerce and professional conduct, is not particularly crucial to art. I take it you would have criticized E.E. Cummings on his poor capitalization and punctuation skills.
