Squarebyte

Greetings people, I'm back.
I have first to apologize for my 6+ month absence- I was sitting the final exams you see.
Now I'm back, and I'll probably be making some new preset occasionally.
My first one for the new "session" (and year) is squarebyte, a preset that uses mostly shapes w/textures - and some traditional equations. enjoy.

EDIT:PS: I decided to have just one thread for all my presets, so that the forum doesn't get overloaded - just getting a bit more tidy

Bars

Thanks for the encouragement Nitorami
This time I have a preset called 'bars'. It displays our familiar classic bars visualisation.
It is based *completely* on the composite shader and some calculations done in the per-frame code. Feel free to mod around with it!

EDIT: Ohh I can't edit the first post... never mind. You can get it from here.
Newest is #2 Bars on 9/1/2010

It generally looks good. It has Squarebyte's motion and shape parts.
If you are a bit patient though, you might notice that after some time the dot/stripe generation becomes 'static'. This way I guess that it comes from some milky fractal preset like errr... 'Flexi - hue burst'? idk. It has a nice warp shader anyway.

I returned! - Iris colors

Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I last posted here. However I didn't quit...
... you thought that you would get rid of me THAT easily?! HA!

How you guys doin'? Is everybody here? Is winamp still alive like the old good times? At least I see that milkdrop and the forum are alive, that makes me happy...

I sat a couple of hours yesterday to make this humble old-school preset. No shaders used, I hope you like it.

#4 Fluorescence painter

Here's a new one.
Two simple shapes create colors and whites, and a nice warp-shader based trick does all the hard work, creating those vivid color stripes.

#5 Unchained remix

I accidentally (whatever ) opened Unchained - Not as fun as it looks. After taking a look on unchained's HUGE piece of code, I tried adding a shape (accidentally of course)...

This is the result. Nice, isn't it?

#6 Lissajous

Watch Lissajous shapes being drawn on your screen with this new preset.

We just learned about oscilloscopes at university
This preset is probably my most advanced so far, I included new shader tricks (see the warp shader), some kinda bad-condition handling, boolean algebra, a small bitfield trick, and other stuff. You might find the warp shader useful, it has the max-cross-blur shader trick, and the selective decay shader trick. Feel free to make some edits/mashups!

PS. Martin is right... working more works wonders

#7 Aether generator

I was lucky in this one, I didn't expect such vivid colors.
Simple addition in the composite shader makes the funny gases look "transparent".

Quitting Milkdropping :(

People... my free time has passed out, so I now have to quit preset making, virtually permanently. I'm gonna miss all of you.

I am leaving you my guys my last WIP, to let you remember me... please someone finish it.

Farewell...

Hi Blastofftek

you can't just predict you'll never got time for making presets again, can you ? I myself had long periods of abstinence, but still came back after a while. Because, it is still fun and relaxing for me, after all.

The Super Mario is a sweet idea but don't expect anybody to continue on it. It is just too much effort to think through other's code, plus I have made the experience that people prefer to pursue their own ideas rather than to collaborate.... that's just how things are. I similarly would wish for a a larger and more engaged community, but few seem to find into this corner, and most thos who do would quit after a short period, too short to develop their skills. Pity, but again it's just how it is.

Anyway, good luck, and hope to see you back one day.

Martin

Nope, I can't.
Thank you Martin for the kind words. It seems you were more or less right.
I'm still around, yet I probably won't be able to make anything before February or so. So I'm just passing by to say hi.
