Winamp in my car

so i have a 1999 Jaguar Convertible, and i wanted winamp in it. so briefly, here is what i did:

the jag has a proprietary stereo system in it, with CD disc changer, which i left in place. its essentially an alpine system. it has a single thick wire to do L/R audio, power, ground, etc... so the first challenge is how to get into that? i found this:

it has inputs for two devices, but only one worked for me, and it only worked when the 410c had its ground wire grounded directly to the car.

i then got this, all SSD and pre-assembled with all the processor and ram and power bits:

and installed win7 to it.

i ran the USB ports (via wire extensions) to the center console in my car, so the logitech wireless keyboard (with built in mousepad) and wifi adapter would be in the console, and the USB3 drive with the music on it as well. i also installed a power inverter, and have a power plug in the console as well. (and this lets me power a monitor in the trunk if i ever need to do a BIOS update or similar)

on my phone, i run FoxFi which creates a hotspot (i have one of the last remaining Verizon unlimited data accts) and then i run aWAR remote on either that phone, or a different device, to control winamp. mainly to skip tracks. (i could use the wireless keyboard as well, but the phone is easy)

windows automatically logs in, and i use DrO's time restore plugin so my winamp automatically starts up and will play the same goofy austin powers clip each time the car starts, and then load my entire library and shuffle it, over 80k songs. the computer starts up and hibernates with the car starting and stopping.

its all pretty cool. one thing i probably should have done is the free upgrade to win10, b/c it starts up quicker i think, but its no big deal.

i did but i misplaced them, if i find them i'll post... car is currently getting worked on, so i'll take new ones when i get it back if need be.

interestingly enough, over labor day i tried to upgrade to win10 (u can still do so for free, google it), but it didn't work. i suspect it was the ASUS utilities borking it. but whatever the case was, it wouldn't boot and wasn't worth fixing, so i wiped the SSD HD and installed win10 pro, (64bit), and it all seemed to be ok, i just didn't have my win7 code to activate it.

with win10, i now have the system set to turn the computer on/off rather than Hibernate. its faster i think, and works better with DrOs plugin that way (as opposed to how it did with win7)

I don't know if I can get these to control either the aWAR app on the phone, or Winamp on the computer via direct Bluetooth? I really would love dedicated buttons on the steering wheel tho.

(Looking for play/pause, mute/unmute, prev/next track. Would want vol up and down, but hopefully also the ability to disable those, and not the mute. Hopefully that's available in winamp. Also don't want it to power down until after 15min or so of no button pushes)
