Anyone else hear of it? It's still in closed beta, but it will be following the free to play model like most other games now a days.

It sounds like a great game, I have yet to be accepted into the closed beta. all I know is that the online community there is probably one of the best "larger" communities out there... It seems that everyone is there for the same reason and thankfully most of them arent trolls.

As for the game, I'm excited I always played a lot of Mechwarrior as a child in fact it was probably one of the first "3D" games I ever played.

i thought this was the one i'd been hearing about for sure, but after watching that hunchback video i'm sure it couldn't be the same one, they talked about some pay mech like you couldn't use whatever gun you wanted on the appropriate hardpoints, count me out.

Are you talking about the founders mechs? Yeah I'm not intersted in them they seem to be static and cannot be altered in anyway.

I'd be glad to get my hands on my jenner again...

Hawken looks good, I'll be keeping my eye on it as well.

if they're ruining it with pay to win content then it's just not interesting, period.

So I've gotten into the closed beta... Fairly quickly actually.

Those founders mechs aren't pay to win they just have some extra cosmetics... They also come outfitted instantly with some nice gear (gear you can get fairly easily after three matches I was on par if not better than the founders mechs)

I find that this game is fairly harsh on your CPU.

Good amount of people saying that Quad core would help a lot, duo cores seem to be affected greatly from the crytech engine but they are still working on a fix for that.

All in all for closed beta the game is a good amount of fun, would be better if I didn't get the lag I get but it was expected.

Oh the fact that I got into the closed beta was completely fluke there are others who have been waiting for months to get in...

Also you have to agree to a NDA before being able to play, in fact I'm going against the NDA just saying this but oh well.

Looks great, gives the same feeling as the old Mechwarriors. I'm in love, but wont be holding my breath until final release which should be in a few months.

well it looks like that video was as deceptive as i'd hoped in that case, it looked like the founders mech had only one loadout you could use, was wondering how they even call it mechwarrior if that's the case.

have you tried out a good atlas loadout? those were top of the range last time i was into mechwarrior stuff, be interesting to see where they sit at current.

as far as computer power, i've got 24GB of ddr3, a ge force 470GT and a really nice 2500k processor, i'm just hoping i can scale back the graphics in GTA V enough to get a good frame rate in 3d vision mode, but i doubt it.

I bought myself an Atlas but haven't bothered to play it, I have gotten tooned by them a few times though...

If it helps, I've also destroyed a few atlases with my Jenner.

well... there's hawken, but that's sounding less and less like something i'll ever care about, from what i've heard you can't even setup the mech with a loadout you want, i've been hearing it's all preset stuff, i think i enjoyed the load customization in previous mechwarrior games and others (earthsiege series) more than the actual combat, at least arguably.
