I'm slightly surprised this place still exists.

Add to that the fact that my account still seems to work, and I'm what you could call bemused.

I've had an account at least a year or two before this one, just to lurk around with, back when I didn't have much to do but make shitty Winamp2 skins...

And holy shit, does that make me realize just how long I've been here...

I believe I installed Winamp due to a PC magazine that had it on it's coverdisc (Remember those?) when my family first got a PC. This was the first forum I discovered after googling winamp at school (We got a PC in 2003, but internet only in 05).

Nowadays, the only forum I visit is the most intelligent Pro Wrestling forum I've found. And as far as I go, I'm a 21 year old with a master's degree, starting a new job in one of the large offices of a multinational bank, with a side hobby of a pro wrestler on the side. A long call from the 14 year old I was when I signed up. Anyways, I had a lot of good times here back when I first found go onto the internet, and you were all a group of great people. Apart from Scorlibran/Missyob. Either he's a complete cunt, or she's a psycho lying bitch. Or both.

But yeah, apart from that, all good.

Personally I haven't been around here much since I stopped using Winamp (Reddit has been sucking my life away). Got fed up with it not working right and crashing all the time, so I switched to MediaMonkey. Supports all my favorite Winamp plugins and got my library organized fast.

This is a sig of some nature.

i'm going to go out on a limb and guess that i registered on one of the 4-20-xxxx dates, i know i may be wrong and frankly too lazy to check, but... you'd be surprised how many of my registered dates for forums/games/MMOs wind up falling on that date.

bah. even though I got macs now, I still have winamp everywhere.

That light/slim version that does not require an install (what ever it's really called) is a god send for computers that are locked down and require admin rights to install anything. I just can't deal with wmp.

Also got it on the computer I have in my kitchen with that 7'' touch screen for recipes I posted a screen shot of years ago. Gotta listen to tasty tunes while I cook dinner. Plus, the skin used on it is also the only skin for anything I have ever seen that will work on a touch screen display.

The above goes for the mac mini I have in my car running Win7. The mini is really great for a car computer; power requirements are low. Sure, my car has a six disc mp3 changer and it's still not enough music, so in went the mini. Plus, it also runs Traktor and has inputs for a mixer, decks, and speakers. Going to parks is fun.

Then there are the SHOUTcast servers I seem to setup everywhere I work ...

I still use Winamp myself, but only as a music player. Video gets done by Media Player Classic Home Cinema.

Haven't had any issues with Winamp crashing in many years. Probably since Windows 98se, honestly. Hell, I still use the same skin I've used probably for a decade.

It's weird when you just all-of-a-sudden get a compelling urge to go and visit where you learned to internet and find that someone else recently had the same thing happen to them and a veritable shit-ton of old heads you used to discuss stupid stuff with all posted in their thread. I can't say I'm doing anything more than visiting, hell I'm only posting because my intent to lurk was circumnavigated by so many familiar...faces?

It's good to see at least some of you are still around ten years or more later (I think I joined in what, '01?) The time is different in my head than it is in life, though. I've changed a lot since then, less angry, less full of shit, less out to prove whatever I was trying to prove to essential strangers who I'd never meet in RL but came to respect just simply out of friendship and a weird attraction to all things sarcastic and pictorially hilarious. I remember some of the arguments here (some of the mean ones, some of the enlightening ones), some of the spamming bullshit that flooded the gates for awhile that used to anger me so..weird, now I just see idiot kids spamming inanities as part of the form, but back then it really used to bother me.

PS: I can literally feel my bones creak when people mention their ages. I'm almost 30 now, and though I thought I was getting used to seeing old friends grow up and have lives beyond trying to get laid in the summer of '04, remembering and learning some of your ages when you joined (and that I remember you) makes me feel brittle and old.
