I'm not an expert but I believe there is no such thing as "playlist media library". There is the Media Library and there is the Playlist Editor but these are separate things. In the Media Library view you may have created your own playlists and I guess these are what you want to change by removing items that are no longer on the hard disk.

When you click on one of the playlists it appears in a window with buttons along the bottom. They are labelled Play, Send-To, Add, Rem, Sel, Misc, and Manage Playlist. Click on Rem (short for Remove) and then choose "Remove all dead files" from the menu. This will edit your playlist but it will not remove the file(s) from the Media Library.

The method described in my previous post will remove missing items from the Media Library but will not change your playlists. Maybe you will want to remove items from playlists and the Media Library.

It is my experience that there all sorts of menus and actions that are exposed by right clicking on different places and by left clicking on buttons. Try it!

fyi, I use ver. 5.581 with Bento skin

Oh no yeah, i need to remove those files "They are labelled Play, Send-To, Add, Rem, Sel, Misc, and Manage Playlist. Click on Rem (short for Remove) and then choose "Remove all dead files" from the menu"

Yeah...that's rock!!! Just i have the italian version, and there's a bad translation (such "Remove all unused files", which sound different).

Thanks man

@djfonplaz

If you give me the correct Italian translation for "Remove all dead files"
then I'll fix it in time for the next release.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Media Library Playlists -> Rem button -> Remove all dead files
and not: Playlist Editor window -> Rem (-) button -> Remove -> Remove missing files from playlist?

Give me translations for both, if possible.

If you find any other wrong or missing translations, then let me know, and I'll fix them.

Alas, there's no-one currently keeping the Italian lang pack up-to-date, so I've been doing it for the past few releases,
and although I've just left most of the new strings in English, I've also attempted to translate some too.... oops.

I think that also menus are different from english to italian version (i can't view what you said).

Anyway, this is a correct italian.
This i would like to change to "Remove missing files" too
