Looking for clear explanation on AAC in winamp
The majority of the AAC files I have will not play in winamp. I've searched high and low and found conflicting information. Most posts say that winamp natively supports AAC for playback. Other posts talk about needing to download a plugin, change the file extension, strip off tags, etc.... Most frustrating, is that I can't find any info from this year about the issue. Google search turns up posts several years old, related to old versions of winamp.
Does anyone know if AAC is CURRENTLY supported, and if so, what could cause the majority of AAC files to not play? when I try to open an AAC file, it has a length of 0:00, and either won't play at all, or plays a short burst of digital garble. |

I never had any problems playing them, I use the FFdshow audio decoder and winamp runs it when it plays AAC files.
