iPod touch doesn't play nicely, as Apple has totally changed how files are stored on the device. I think ml_ipod has some basic support for the Touch:

ml_ipod indeed has some support for the iphone & touch.
see http://mlipod.sourceforge.net/
or for a specific list of what works & doesn't work you can skip to http://mlipod.sourceforge.net/wiki/I..._touch_support

The mlipod solution, while an excellent project to pursue, currently feels too much of a workaround, and far from how great it would be to have iPhones/iPod Touch properly supported in Winamp.

I hope it happens, meanwhile its horrible iTunes for me.

from the ml_ipod wiki

The iPhone and iPod touch do not support "disk mode" natively. This is bad, as ml_iPod heavily relies on the disk mode of the iPod to access the files. There were rumors that a new FW 1.1.3 will support disk mode - but now 1.1.3 is out and still no disk mode. If that ever happens, we are fine. Until then, we need a workaround to access and update files on the iPhone. There is no documented way to do that. Apple keeps the lid on all the necessary information. The iPhone dev team (the guys that hacked to iPhone to use other SIM cards etc.) found ways to get to the file system, but mainly on Mac OS X.
it is a workaround and always will be unless Apple opens the API's.

Most promising path for the moment is to use iphonefs, an OSS project to gain access to the iPod filesystem and mount it as a drive letter.
