The end of the line

What do you think will come first?

The forums shutting down for good, you leaving the forums for good, or you getting banned from here (permanently) for some reason?

Discuss.

Leaving the forums on my own. Starting to get that way alot recently. I'm not posting anywhere near as much as I used to because I find very little here for me now.

The forums are actually in good condition. It's GD that is dying. But I wouldn't care much if they locked GD permenently. Skinlove and Tech support will always be there.

The best way to put it is in probabilities;

Option 1: 5%
Option 2: 50%
Option 3: 45%

It goes without saying, Option 4, Bizz becomes a moderator, is .000000000001 percent.

It's kinda wierd that folk say that GD is sort of like downhill. out of all the forums in winamp it is the most used forum. 15266 threads, but I suspect thats been pruned quite a bit. the only other forum that comes above is winamp2 tech support. all the other forums are at least half that and some only have about 500+ threads. GD also has 296854 posts where as winamp2 tech support has 64073 posts, little under two thirds less [?].
From that I would have to say it is the most popular forum here and if thats the case why shut it down? just cause theres a few *Trolls* about from time to time? or because NooBs come on wanting to know the same thing all the time?
can't see as if the second is a valid reason somehow, as for the Trolls they soon disappear.

anyway the No.'s speak for them selves and unless theres a drastic reduction in threads/posts I can't see option 1 being a reality. As for the other two options? I think that Xerxes answers that one, there more than likely to leave of there own accord or if a *Troll* be perm. banned.

Leave the forums.
I think that I'll go by my own.
My work is starting to increase
so maybe the time will become more less
to stay here.

Leave on my on accord most likely. Though out of curiosity, what would I actually have to do to get banned?. (examples, not TOS tedium ; ) )

Well...I voted I'd leave, mostly because I don't think I'd get banned or the forums would get shut down.

But now I'm pretty damn sure getting banned would happen before anything else

I'm too much of a lurker to get banned, I'm too much of a lazy ass to not come by here every few days at least and check about what's up.

welp!

Now that our future is in jeopardy I figured this thread was worth a bump. These forums have been my internet home for as long as I can remember, and even though I stopped being an everyday member around 2006 or so I still kept these forums bookmarked to lurk and maybe post every once in a while.

I can't believe I've been here as long as I have. I was 17 when I registered here, SEVENTEEN. I'm fucking......31 or 32 now. It's crazy how time moves so slow. Even though I eventually found new hangouts and communities, none of them were as tight knit as the Winamp Forums were back in their heyday. Everyone was awesome. I had fun, I laughed, perhaps even ROFL'd, I criedfapped (I don't cry, fuck THAT noise), I got angry, waffles, sad, joyful, and everything in between. I started the 1,000,000 thread and slowly watched it reach 420something thousand. I learned how to troll, and more importantly, how not to. I made stupid mistakes, I took this place seriously, almost too seriously at times, but learned that that's not how the internet works. All in all I have no regrets and I wouldn't change a damn thing. This place will always be special to me, and so will everyone that made it so (especially s1138, because he's "special", you know, the short bus type).

Not much has gone on with me over the past 8 years, except pretty much my whole life. I'm married (yes, to Lizz ). No kids (yet). Had my share of ups and downs. Mostly ups though. Fuck downs (no offense s1138). I'm not sure how much longer we have here, but I'm all nice and registered over at the new boards. Not sure if I'll be a post pumping bastard like I was 10 years ago, but I'll pop in every once in a while. If not, I don't do the whole Instant Messenger/Social Media thing anymore, but you can find me on Steam (bizznatchffxi), Xbox Live & PSN & UPlay & Origin (Bizz408).

See you on the flipside,
Bizz

(<3 s1138)

Apparently I voted for "leaving the forums on my own". That happened, but then I came back because I heard they were shutting down, so I have no idea if I was right or not. It's like a fucking zen koan or something.g

Still alive...I wonder if anyone could buy the domain name after AOL stops paying?

I am so important I feel the need to let it be known like a liberal discovering the internets for the first time. Uh hur hur hur. I also wash myself with a rag on a stick.
