Forum Suggestion: Arts Forum

For avatars, sigs, graphics, poetry, writing, whatever. It would stop the avatar thread bitchings and just in general be a nice place for people to be creative.

Post your opinions and whatnot...

How about a general tech support forum for hardware/software other than winamp?

That would be more useful in my opinion.

Both good ideas. Also maybe a "About GD" forum for problems (how do i get an avatar?) and/or suggestions such as these.

I lobbied the Art forum a while back when that oen thread got turned into this huge debate over the quality of GD and how maybe more mods were needed in GD and maybe some half-mdos and whatnot. Never went though, but hopefully it will this time.

A general Tech Support question would rock!

One last suggestion. In the "games section" coudl we break it down to 'computer, consol, forum, other" games? Then we coudl have the what do you do, what don't you do, etc all out of the way in GD. It would take some work, but just a suggestion.

Arts & Crafts - j/k (sounds like summercamp), A&G Disc sounds good to me.

I kinda like the idea of an About GD forum, but maybe it could be more like a more generalized "Forum/Site Issues" or similarly named forum, so it can be kind of a catchall for XYZ.winamp.com problems. Not sure how much activity happens in Rip Reporting these days, but it might be able to be rolled into that area as well (or not).

General Tech Support is a cool idea, but we might need to put a disclaimer up that it's provided with no warranty...blah blah, don't sue Nullsoft if your computer runs off with your girlfriend and dog...blah.

Just some more food for thought,

-=Gonzotek=-

I was away for a while.
But I'm feeling much better now.

That would be sweet - both the A&G and Tech. These forums are getting somewhat bulky though.

Having those forums would help lighten the GD load. Arts and Graphics could be a GD subforum too.

would arts also cover the writen word? if so Poetry would go in there and get a proper Crite (E should have a hifen).

Well here's the thing... if you move every art discussion over there, every graphics discussion, and every tech question... what do you have left? Games. And what do people complain about most in GD? The amount of games. I know there's a few other things, but I'm guessing all the "what do you do" type games will outnumber anything else by far.

I know it's been talked about before, and it's been brushed aside, but I still don't understand why they don't make a Games & Polls forum, where all the postpumping games can be sent, and the polls where everyone gives short answers. Make it so that those posts don't even count toward your postcount, if you want.

I have more to add to this, but I'm gonna take a shower and think on it a little...

Chica i'd thought of that before, it'd be a little slow in here but what's so bad about that as long as we get the threads we would get anyway? Just in a more orderly and easier to navigate fashion.

Actually, I think what I was suggesting was to perhaps take out all the postpumping crap and leave the arts, tech, writing etc. instead. I don't know, I had just woken up when I posted that lol.
