I get so much spam in my admin mail account. It's not just spam though, its viruses and stuff like that.

why do people have to take advantage of something like a radio station?

made contact with the station and it turns out that someone else his mail has been under attack from an adress harvester and my e-mail adress was one of many that were used by this harvester to send others mails using my name.

already apologized to the station.

most hosts have SpamAssassin installed just update your filters to blacklist and delete email titles marked *****SPAM**** also dont post your email in its orginal form as you get loads of email spider bots crawling these forums take away the @ and replace it with something like (at) or just dont post your email at all if you want someone to contact you just post an im user name and on a last note if you receive an email from someone called contacto dont do the dumb thing and run the scr file he sends you, if none of the above works look at the email properties/message source and contact there host, your email is like your phone number you wouldn't just give it to anybody, nor can they just best guess it they have to find it from somewhere

Of course theres the people who fill my music form out to a virus. Why would I think it's music when its like virus.exe lmfao

I wasn't born yesterday
this mail i recieved has nothing to do with what you just posted, this guy got an E-mail from me asking how to listen to him. i didn't send it and it had an attachment with a virus.
he just replied with how to listen to him.
my e-mail adress was found on another computer in the adress book -the other computer most likely has no good protection against spyware that harvest adresses

yep , just like the famous one from info@hotmail.com
"your hotmail account is about to expire"

anybody who can think a little should know that this is just plain bullshit and the attachment is nothing more than a virus

Unfortunately Spam is a fact of life now.

There's lots of anti-spam programs out there that can be used.

Rule number one for cutting down on the site spam... Use a cgi mailer form or the like for receiving email on your website and don't post any email addresses anywhere on your website. There's lots and lots of programs now that just hunt the net for email addresses on websites and in forums.

Also a lot of spam is auto-generated based on finding your addy on your website.. and when you respond to the spam, instead of deleting it, you're confirming your email address... this is especially true for Scam Spammers. Taking the time to toss a temper tantrum at the spammer only confirms a valid email address.

Most people who gets tonnes of spam get it because they don't follow those two simple rules or sign up for things on-line where there's no guarantee of your email addy being passed on to a third party. Be smart and your spam won't be so bad

That's a famous spam trick. Make sure you don't respond. Most auto spam programs will automatically send to admin or info@ .. As long as you don't respond it can't verify that it's a valid address.

Pah, I just let it sit and rot. Sometimes I'll click the unsubscribe link if I can bloody find it. Though some of them use that to verify it, some actually do remove you from the list as required. I really don't care, I'm used to spam, I had a hotmail account
