Folder Tree

Alright, so here it is then...

My problem

I want to create a tree map, using notepad. Now I have done this before, with the assistance of one well known forums member, apologies for my forgetfulness. For memory, it used a few lines of text in notepad, which would then be saved as a batch (.bat) file. This could be then executed, and in the specified folder a .txt file would provide the tree.

I remember asking you for this myself, and here is what you said..

Quote:
C:\My Music\Genre\Band\{Year} Album\

But if you haven't written it out like that it shouldn't bother you too much.

In Notepad type

x:
cd\directory
tree /a > filename.txt

x -> The drive letter your music is on
directory -> the directory your music is in
filename -> the intended filename eg. AlbumList

Mine is:
c:
cd"\My Music"
tree /a > "c:\Documents and Settings\JAKE\My Documents\My Music\AlbumList.txt"

That's just ridiculous then isn't it. Of course! I helped someone out also... how funny. If I remember correctly it wasn't all that long ago you asked either.

Many thanks for that.

How's everyone anyway?
