V For Vendetta

Better than I thought it would be. It was really weird, but definitely worth the price of the ticket, imo. The plot was twisty up to the end. Visually, it was very good. There were a couple small things that made me wonder, though. I won't go into any detail. I don't want to spoil it for anyone else that might want to see it.

Has anyone else seen it yet?

No, don't intend to either.

It would no doubt ruin my memories of the vastly superior comic book, no film could even come close.....

Go seek the books sarge, you won't regret it

I've heard that it's pretty good if you can get past the stupid political message they're trying to send.

Why can't people just make entertaining movies without trying to shove some political view down the audience's throat?

Of course, the whole thing was based around politics, but I didn't really let it try to push any messages off on me. I just watched it and enjoyed it for what it is.

If I had the patience to read them, I definitely would. I never could keep my attention set on any book, though. :\ For never having read them, I thought the movie was awesome, though.

Yeah, there's something I hate about action flicks too, with what they promote...

I mean, can't they just make a movie without shoving so much violence in my face?

Friggin' awesome!
They're not trying to send a political message unless you're a Fox News junkie maybe
It's a fucking movie and a good one too. If they had redone the book page for page, what would we have? A three movie package as lengthy as LOTR?
I'm sick of people saying that movies don't follow the book close enough. If the author wanted it different, it's his choice and can oversee the project like Douglas Adams did with Hitchhiker's Guide.
I still can't get over Tom Clancy, however, letting them film Sum Of All Fears like that though

Does the line "People should not fear their government, their government should fear the people" insult your political beliefs?

Great movie

I also thought it was a very clever movie. I dunno, Jones, I haven't read the books myself, but one of the people in my class who is apparently a huge fan said he was quite pleased with the film version, even the changes it made helped the film rather than hurt it, he said.

That response was intended for a certain other forum's members too so it got combined into a multi-forum post.

I liked it. Thought it was quite good to respect his wishes and not look below the mask as well.

The books are incredible. I've been a fan of Moore's since the late eighties, and I have to say this is the best film adaptation of any of Moore's works. I had a few small complaints, but all in all it was quite good.

I went to see Inside Man and instead I had to see this.

So going into it I wasn't all for it, and I think the start was kinda fucked.. but other than that the movie picks up and it's really excellent.

It was good. And Natalie Portman is terribly attractive. (these seem to be my only adjectives to describe her.)

Yeah I thought this movie was really good - definitely the best things I've seen in quite a while. Its a shame the movies this summer havent been too good. Superman looks ok, but until then I think I'm just gonna get V on DVD when it comes out soon.
