Mouse pointer alignment wrong

Vista
Winamp 5.63

The registration (between the mouse position on the screen and the effect) of the mouse pointer is off about 1" to the right and 3/4" down, but only in Winamp, and even within Winamp, only for the song selection fields in the media library.

I have deleted Winamp, cleaned preferences, restarted Vista, reinstalled Winamp (2x), and the same effect persists.

All other Windows programs work fine with mouse. In fact all other parts of the Winamp screen work fine, but the mouse pointer behaves as though it is about 1" to the left and 3/4" above the location on the screen when songs are being selected.

Any thoughts?

Mark

I'd check the Window scale setting.
Maybe you have scaled the window to something other than 100%.
Right click title bar > Window Settings > Scaling.

I assume the Windows system screen resolution and scaling are also set to their defaults.

I would suspect your mouse, but you say it works well with everything else. You need to provide your WA configuration report as requested in the troubleshooting sticky. Link to the "One for Nunz" plug-in below (download link at the bottom of the page).

Sorry, no. That was just a shot in the dark.
Do as Aminifu suggests.

OK, here is further config info:

Please include all relevant Winamp & System specs, including:
-A List of Plugins (*click* for full details) : Attached
-PC or Motherboard make/model :Acer AS1410

-CPU & RAM: Intel Core 2 Solo 2GB RAM
-Sound card or chip: Intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI
Realtek High Definition Audio
-Videocard: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
-Windows OS (including Service Pack, eg. WinXP sp2): Vista SP2
-DirectX version (start > run > dxdiag): DirectX11
-Winamp version (eg. 5.63): 5.63
-Confirmation of the Winamp installation type (Pro, Full, Bundle, Lite):
File: winamp563_full_emusic-7plus_en-us.exe

Quote:
-We will also need further information for any video playback issues

If relevant, also attach a HijackThis log (alt download)
to show all concurrently running processes and startup items.
Since this issue only affects a single area and only within Winamp, I would assume it is NOT a "video issue."

Thanks again for your time. Can I provide anything else?

Mark

Mr Sinatra:

Well, you're on to something! "Normal Bento" is the same, but "Winamp Classic" and "Winamp Modern" both allow me to use the media selection normally. The only problem is that they are wierd, with sub-windows that can be dragged around the screen separately, but cannot be resized, as far as I can figure out.

The mouse pointer is normal: no cute kitties hopping or anything.

well, thats something to go on for people who know better than me, but at this point i am stumped.

it seems to me it almost has to be some kind of visual setting, maybe something enabled by mistake, but why it affects some skins and not others? no idea. do you have another user on that machine you can log into and see if it persists?

You like the modern all-in-one Big Bento. Give "ClassicPro" a look-see. Its default skin is a Big Bento clone. If it allows the mouse to work normally, you may like it and find the differences between it and WA's Big Bento useful.
