Why are logins still not sent via SSL?

after the recent security breach one has to ask the question why the login to the forums is still not handled via HTTPS/SSL.

Any explanation, Winamp Team?

Upgrading the forum to repair a security bug is one job. Swapping to HTTPS/SSL is a much larger job which requires much more resources at the server end.

And it would not have made any difference in this case as the hack broke in through a bug in the forum software - which would still have been accessible via HTTPS/SSL.
