Cant find Nexus 5 (WiFi & USB)

Hello Winamp forums,

I cant seem to find an answer for my question anywhere.

I just simply cant find my device on Winamp whatsoever... It once popped up when i first installed but ever since I cant find it again either through wifi or USB.

Any help or advice is greatly appriciated.

Many Thanks.

Maybe it has got onto the "do not monitor" list.

Plug the device back into the Pc
Start Winamp
Go into Preferences
Scroll to the bottom and find the Plugins and then Portables.
Now look for the section your device will appear under.
Example: If it is a USB device, the click on the Nullsoft USB Device Plug-in
Hit the Configure button
Now select the letter of your USB drive
and press the un-blacklist drive button.

Exit the Preferences and you will now see Devices back on the left hand side.
Right click and Start Discovery again.

Hello Batter Pudding,

Thanks for your response tis greatly appriciated.

I followed your steps, but once I open up Nullsoft USB im presented with 3 drives (C: D: and F: ) and a Blacklist Drive button (no un-blacklist)

First of all im not sure which drive my phone is connected through (its in the front of my PC in a USB 3.0 port) because I can see it on my computer (maybe that is the cause of the problem?)

On my phones notification bar it says Connected as a media device and the only other option is to change it to camera mode..

Its kind of strange that I cant see the phone in my computer...

Anyway thank you for your advice, any further help would be greatly appriciated.

To find out which drive your phone is connected to, open Windows Explorer and look at the files on the phone. Now check the title bar at the top, it will say C:, D: or F:.

I'll put money on it being the F: drive as C is usually your hard disk and D your DVD writer.

And yes - when you connect it you want to "Connect as a media device". This should treat it as a simple USB drive. Like a dumb flash drive.

Okay - so this isn't a Winamp issue. First we need to find why your phone does not show up as a USB device.

Close Winamp and Disconnect the phone from the computer, and then plug it in again.

Check out what options you get. Maybe select the camera option instead? Basically, try each option that is available until the one that presents the phone as a USB drive is found.

Ok switched to camera mode and windows installed "Google Nexus ADB Interface"

Still nothing in My Computer..

Switch back to media - nothing.

Tired turning on USB debugging (becz why not) - nothing...

Im going to Google around why its not showing up in my computer in the meanwhile.

Thanks Batter!!!

I thought on Google Android Phones there was some kind of cog or settings up at the top of the screen when the devices is attached via USB?

Yes when its connected via USB, you drag down the notification bar and it says "connected as a media device" which you can click on and change to camera mode.

I am pretty sure it should be a "Media Device". With the phone in that mode, open Device Manager on the PC and delete the driver. Then unplug and reattach the device. It may make it plug and play again in a more correct manner.

Excellent news.

Now you have it working, check out the preferences again. With the device attached go look in the preferences and you will see there are specific settings you can now tweak for your device. This lets you choose exactly what goes onto the device and where it is put.
