falsified information !

hi, ive just done a search on this message and the newest thread i could find was in 2005.
I now have in my log:
<08/18/06@18:12:47> [yp_tch] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<08/18/06@18:12:47> [yp_tch] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Your server has been permanently banned for providing falsified information.)

<08/18/06@18:42:11> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<08/18/06@18:42:11> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (This network has been permanently banned due to a previous violation of the SHOUTcast directory terms of service.)
Is it correct that i have to contact my hosting company because it's a violation from them or someone using there company ?
Or were do i go from here pls ?

Are you your own server? If so, then it is quite possibly someone else on the same subnet as you who has abused the terms of service.
You can send a private message to a moderator explaining that it's not you that's been naughty and see what they can do.
Be aware that you can still stream, you just won't be listed in the shoutcast directory and you really shouldn't rely on that for getting listeners.

somebody on this subnet has been doing this , so the whole subnet gets banned
ask your provider to find out who did this and have him kick this person out of this hosting plan

next you pm a Mod

Each Thursday a new show on Celtica Radio with Darkwave music.

this could be a temporary glitch...?

we saw this on our servers earlier but since has subsided and logs are normal. I sent a PM but deleted it cause everything looked straight again.

Could you provide me with the iport of your server?

Please don't PM me for technical support. Other users can't search through PM's so it does the other users no good.

this really does appear to be a temp glitch. I had 2 deployments on a server not showing that and our main one showing it , same location. if the server really was banned I would think the other 2 residing on the same server and ip would have been banned.

everything has been optimal since i last posted.

The plot thickens :-)

I've been banned on one port, yet my other three ports seem fine. I've PM'd a mod to see if I can be helped.

Thanks

I must admit I'm totally confused by this ban, sometimes all my servers appear and all is well, then one or more ports get banned, then they come back, then everything gets banned, then.... (I think we get the routine).

Does the subnet get un-banned then whomever it is causing trouble get re-banned then takes us all down with it.

I have to admit, it does seem somewhat hardline that I have my own server with a data-center, yet I and others get banned because some twonk is a naughty-boy (this does somewhat assume that I'm not the naughty-boy!, although I'm not aware I am).

Do I need to change IP to avoid this?

OK, looks like I've moved errors, maybe related to this thread.
