whats your favorite.....

.....aspect of any one skin you have created????

a really neat eq or volume animation????
a set of c-buttons????
the basic layout or color scheme of???
not necessarily from your fav skin but maybe

(pimp thread in disguise so dont over do it )

mine would have to be the eyes in Demonic Thoughts

on the main they house the kbs and khz

on the eq they are part of the eq vis made to look like fiery avs melting the chain

and in the pl and mb they signify the difference between the active and inactive state

Yes, the embeding of the two dreadful kbs and khz windows is really smart. To tell you the truth, even though I have only made one skin yet, any time I have an idea and look at the base Amp or a template to think about what my next hundreds skins will look like, those two tiny windows are the one that really bug me the most to "turn" around so that they fit the "landscape". Then having looked at how you have been "hiding" them : Honest !

The main things I like about my first skin : Zanzamp are the little "easter eggs" I have been hiding here and there. But those are mostly made for the players of the game ("Zanzarah : the hidden portal", out since six month in europe, and hopefully within the next two weeks in the US) because one of the main principle of this adventure game is to seek objects and stuff, and also collect various fairies (some rare, some not, some well hidden...).

I'm not sure. It's a toss-up between these three things:

- The EQ bars on Selective Ambience

- The PL stacks on The SHAG skin

- The cursors on Noxious Flow - the mainmenu.cur is made from an animation I caught in Milkdrop, the close.cur explodes and disintegrates, and I like the subtle ways in which the other ones change colour when you move the mouse around the skin.

Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.

Eq bars, it's a toss up between Lara2 (see sig) or Jenny McCarthy Lines and Curves ( See database)

Or

The vol bar animation on Cavey ( see database), mind you the hidden wink in the Jenny McC skin was inspired

Hmmmm, amp I kinda did something similar on ironcore but kinda more abstract (it was a sub theme rather than the main theme) -- the wa ss is so mucky I doubt you'd notice it.

Um, I'm kinda stuck for my favorite thing in my skins. My favorite skin is LINEAR coz of the colours. But yeah, I dunno

Omfg. I never knew db, Atmo, and Bobo ever made Noxious Flow. My new favourite skin. And a few questions about it...

- Who did the airbrushing? Bobo, right?

- Bobo did the ON/AUTO EQ buttons, right?

- Whatever happened to that bastard?

- And, how did you do the transparency effect on the cursors, Dawid?

Yep. Bobo did most of the airbrushing. I don't know who did the on/auto buttons, but Atmo definately did the volume - probably the best volume on any of 'my' skins. On the cursors, I just used the 'negative' colour, like I did in the Selective Ambience cursors, but this time, I only used that colour on fragments on the cursors. Because of the skin's colour scheme, and possibly also because the 'non-negative' parts have a slight animated glow, the effect is much more subtle.
I think Bobo is now at Breed.

for me it would have to be the on/auto/preset buttons or the monoster on Rose tattoo, I'm also quite pleased how the numbers/vis area worked out

Well, I'm a fan of the EQ bars on Meddling Kids. I also like my use of layers (finally!) on Redefine. And the cursors on Double Helix. And, and...

The eq sliders on nostromo or the volume on Noxious Flow (which was actually really easy, just an animation shop effect i'd been trying to find a skin to use it on).

Probably the balance animation on Cemetary Gates, I was pretty happy with the way that came out, and the min/close/wshade animation in wired was another one I was quite pleased with. The animations are actually the thing I'm MOST worried about in this newest endeavor, because I have very few ideas -_-;;; especially for the eq/pl, shuf/rep, and win/min/close buttons

The cursors and volume on Noxious Flow are awesome (currently using it )! I like the eq/pl animations as well

EDIT - if it's what I think I'll just go bang my head on my monitor for a few minutes...)

Look in doublesize... it doesn't. It's just the overlapping pixels are very similar in colour compared with the previous ones so it appears to go under. Very nice effect there.

It had me going for a while too - I hadn't noticed it until dimichan mentioned it. Even after you know what's going on, in single-size, it still looks like it's hiding behind that bar

And I've changed my mind - I'm very happy with the volume animation on my winter skin, so I think that's my favourite thing now.

no, it was the one where you put the EQ over the MAIN, and - because of the transparency - you could use all of the MAIN and all of the EQ bars on one window

no skinme that was visamp with the buttons and sliders powered by avs
thank you db
(guess i should have made a link before, oooops and oh well)

http://www.1001winampskins.com/skin_...s.html?id=2803

p.s. oh by the way if ya wanna truly distinguish the lcd in the main from the rest of the main in hi-fi integration set the overlay mode of winamps Audio Visualisation Studio (AVS) to on (double click avs window/settings/display) and 0,0,0. shows the lcd area of all the windows too, although they need a little cleaning up. another good reason for an update.
besides i didn't wanna jump on an overlay band wagon idea at the time of visamps release figuured id sit on it till i updated and did the pixel cleaning. man there is still alot of stuff that didn't please me about this skin, other than the colors (maybe a few others in an update), if i ever find more than 10 minutes to sit at the puter

This is from my first skin. When I did it, I was very proud of the shuffle and repeat animations. I thought they were pretty darn good.

So, I guess, what I like most of all of my skins (and I bet I'm not alone) is the fact that they've improved

It might be cutesy, but I'd have to say the volume bar on my skin, DW GingerCat.

Also quite fond of the Volume/Balance slider on DW BulletinBoard.
