How to stop portable music player support popup?
JUst installed v5.54. Now every time I attach a USB drive I get a pop-up window titled "Winamp Portable Music Player Support" that asks if I want to allow WinAmp manage the drive.
For my situation, the answer will always be "No." Is ther a way to keep this popup from coming up? Thanks! |

Winamp will remember when you answer No for a device and stop prompting you. How many USB drives are you dealing with?

I would like to know if there is any way to permanently disable portable player support. To me is really annoying to click no every time a friend brings along an USB device. And then when you format you computer you have to start all over clicking no.
So is there anyway to disable the portable player support in winamp? |

Thanks for you reply. But the two post seem to be on how to fix if you accentually answered yes, but meant no. I would like to permanently answer no. (IE. disable winamp ability to synchronize with USB divices.)
Is there any way to achieve that? Thanks in advance. |

Be sure to uncheck Winamp Library -> Portable Media Player Support -> USB Device Support in the Installer Options next time you upgrade Winamp: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....id=199851#list |

Or, What you ALSO COULD do is rename the pmp_usb.dll to something like pmp_usb.(whatever: pick 3 alpha-numeric characters) ie: pmp_usb.$$$. That way there you can permenantly say 'No.' to that question and still have the ability to keep that plug-in available just in case you ever want to change your mind in the future! ![]() Inspiration A momentary sensation of stupidity!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The ORIGINAL Spirit Wolfe |

Thanks. Your answers helped me. This thing with portable media support was annoying me as h*ll, and I just couldn't manage to pin-point which library to "comment out" for that darn blazing h*ll to stop. Now I know!
