Well folks its finally here... The moment everyone has been waiting for!

You can now create Authentication Hash Keys for your SC_SERV2 servers!!!

Head on over to the My Stations section of SHOUTcast.com to get started now: http://www.shoutcast.com/my-stations

Note you will need to broadcast in 'YP2 mode' in order to use the values you enter with registration.

I don't suppose there is some kind of helper application for those of us still on SC1 is there? Until I can get updated encoders I can not use SC2, so a helper app. that deals with the YP2 would be great.

Your mileage may vary!

Not sure what you mean... Broadcasting on SC1 hasnt changed and theefore doesnt need auth keys or the need to register your station. This new registration tool is only for those wishing to braodcast using the new 2.0 platform and tools.

I get the message : "We are sorry, but you will need to enable cookies and Javascript to use your Username with this site.

Click here to try again after you have enabled cookies and Javascript in your browser. "

I can assure you I have cookies and javascipt enabled

Is it just me or are shoutcast users getting dumber?

What browser are you trying this with? As Jake just mentions - it does work...

I have been able to start, go public, and list on the new SC 2.0 but since I'm having so much difficulty with CPU usage and lack of PlayStation Portable support on the new DNASv2 I've had to dump it for the time being. If/when those issues get resolved I'll switch back, but I can confirm it does work.

I have no encoder support, so I haven't even looked at the SC2 release.

A while back I created an open source broadcaster library for programmers.
This would allow people creating 3rd party source clients to have a "head start".
I hit brick wall after brick wall trying to gain information on the protocol required
to complete it (encryption specific).
Without a new open attitude from those that matter nobody will be able to create
encoders that use the sc2 protocol.
you will be able to use the legacy sc1 and ultravox protocol but not the new sc2.

Faisal
Sc2 broadcaster tools are unstable &/or hard to use, people are going to choose
sc1 over sc2 until this changes or they are given no choice but to switch (sc1 is removed).
The needed changes to make sc2 work for the next 10 years are not going to happen overnight,
And anyone who says this can be done in a short period of time is not looking at the overall picture,in the correct manor.

Great job on the new yp and scripts, looking and working great !!

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish.

While your around jay,
I don't know if your still around spacial audio ?

If so...
Some people use the official sc dsp with sam,The new shoutcast protocol
supports now/next song titles.
The fake winamp or dsp host within 3rdparty software
will need to support this.
just the same winamp playlist/song title grab except pos+1 is also required.

I'm sorry I could not be any more clear I am very tired

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish.

If SHOUTcast broadcasts to some intra-net without connection to Internet this auth key is not needed, right?

correct, the auth key is only needed if you want to be listed in the YP using the SC2 features.

We’re Sorry. The SHOUTcast member profiles and DNAS 2.0 station registration forms are temporarily down due to a server migration. this is what is shown when trying to login. trying to access the page directly is generally sending you back to the main SC site page.

it depends on when you sent it, though if you've done it during the weekend then you're unlikely to get a response until the working week starts.

Registration Script

The SHOUTCast 'Profile' link is still rendering the following message:

Is there an ETA on this issue?

In view of the script issue I have sent two emails to shoutcastadm@aol.com over the past couple of weeks requesting an authentication key and have received no response.

Is there some other means of listing one's station in YP using DNAS 2.x?

Thanks

Casey

anything sent before the 31st of March is unlikely to ever have made it through due to some issues so if you sent it before then you'll need to re-send it. if sent after that date, it either hasn't gotten through or is still pending to be actioned as the site changes at the moment do mean that it takes somewhat longer to sort out site registrations.

Sorry guys - the auth hash generation scripts are borked at the moment. Having difficulties creating them without the actual scripts.

stay tuned and thanks for your patience. we'll sort this out somehow. :P

it's being worked on but at the moment things are somewhat hindered on the technical side which means that no one is going to be getting an authhash (though things will hopefully improve on that respect in the next few days) so please bear with things as this is an unfortunate situation to be in and is related to some external changes that happened a bit sooner than was expected (at least on my part).

there isn't anything to say as there hasn't been any change on the state of things and it's not viable to provide an eta on when that will be resolved (though all i can say is one lucky person is working over the easter holiday on trying to resolve it).

shoutcast was in the last years the biggest supported radiolist and the shoutcast server software are a reliable product. but now your are on the way to dismissed from your own community. wehre is a problem to push back your backup files. where is the prob to fix your own code? many questions but the same answers in lasts 4 weeks. this is very hard for your community and this not funny, more.

is this end of shoutcast...?
