I want to thank you all for the PMs and mails with the good feedback to those 2 projects. Also don't forget to thank DrO, he has done a great job with the Tray Control plug-in.

I want to give an awnser in this thread to one
frequently asked question:

Of course, if you've made an icon pack, contact me via PM or mail, there is no reason, why I shouldn't add new packs to the installer.

The installer will be released after Winamp 5.22 was released, which contains the updated Tray plug-in.

So I have time to add new packs, before we ship the installer.

We have now 16 icon packs, big thanks to Golilla for the great new packs.

You can release my last build (5.0) as soon as possible.

Edit Just added 2 more packs and recompiled as Build 5.0.

All other work, new packs, group packs by author and other things will go in 3.0.

Status Update:

We're working currently on a picture for the Winamp Website and on a description text.

I hope we can ship the pack within the next few days.

Damn, I've forgotten the attachment.

Here is our first draft, maybe one of you, with better graphic skills like me could help to improve the image a little more.

awesome!!

i have tried lots of tray control plugins, and I didn't know WinAMp 5 had its own!!

v1.0 sucks a bit (too big!), but now compact mode rules!!

koopa: i've got some time again so we can get this pushed through in the next day or so

VortX: a fair few of the ones out there were already based on the original v0.2 source code which has been part of the winamp sdk for years. v1.0 wasn't as good as it could have been but that was mainly time constraints and also a 2.0 is always better than a 1.0 in most cases

i personally really like the compact mode so should thank those who came up with the suggestion to get a working version of the old gen_4way plugin implemented.

I'm waiting a little more for Golilla, he maybe can make a small image for the Winamp.com website too.

Then we can release it, I'll mail you within the next day, DrO.

i'll sort out a small image based on the changes that were made to the large one and from what i'd orginally made and will aim to get it submitted tonight since it needs to be out there (unless you want to wait another day or so to get Kalphegor's ones in there)

He will send me the picture soon, but you can release it, if you want. Nevermind I'll take Gollia's small picture for v3.0.

The last icon pack will be not added for version 2.0, because we need a compact.bmp.

the review system isn't pushing reviews onto the main site correctly. i'm really tempted to just host this myself so we have a mirror (or main download location depending on how it goes)

Feel free to host it, DrO, nevermind, the link in the Nullsoft Tray Control plug-in goes to Winamp.com, that's the main issue.

I hope they fix the site soon, other plug-in or skin authors maybe pissed off too, because of the problems with winamp.com

niktheguru, Hannes & osmosis: you haven't a clue, how cool it is, to switch between 20 amazing icon packs.

Its great

One minor issue...

My name is spelt correctly in the chooser page (with a 'k') but spelt with a 'c' in the licence/credits page.

But great none the less

Just one feature request guys (don't kill me if its already there and i haven't noticed it!!)

In the options page, could we have a little box which has a preview of the icons that we are picking. At the moment we don't know until we choose it and see it down the bottom!

Great work though guys, this was long needed....that default icon is was using looks so dated compared to some of the nice new ones!!

Oops, I will fix it for 3.0. But as you said, it's just a minor issue.

Maybe I'll add a preview for version 3.0. But the installer size will grow then. We shall see.

So I need to redownload & reinstall the winamp all over again? Can't you just post here the link for the plugin installer + icon pack, as you did for the 5.21 ver. ??

The Nullsoft Tray Control 2.0 plugin is part of Winamp 5.22 and above, just install latest Winamp version and make sure you've checked the Tray Control plugin in installer.

Then download the icon pack installer, thats all.

There is no seperate download for the plugin, all links in this thread are just beta versions for testing.

Download:

First, thanks for updating this useful plugin Dr. O. You do a good job at keeping the Winamp development scene interesting.

I was wondering if it's possible to add right click functionality to the tray controls. Some useful options in the standard right-click button menus are "Open folder", "End of list", and "On end of Que".

koopa means that if you've already installed v5.22+ you don't need to reinstall winamp because (if you allowed it to be installed), it's already there.

I'm working on Icon Pack version 3.0.

Changelog so far:
  • it's now possible to install packs by author
  • fixed typo in licence
  • local installed licence file is now called "Nullsoft Tray Control Icon Pack.txt" for better compatibility with other icon packs
  • added missing credit for the "Icon Replacement" pack to the license file
  • installer now autodetects running winamp instances and give the ability to end them.

I try to implement the ability for just deleting files, which are installed by installer (one for osmosis), but it's not very easy, so don't blame me, when I cannot finish it for 3.0.

For an update, it would be nice, if I could ad new icon packs, if someone is interested in creating icon packs, then just contact me.

Also if you want to test latest installer build, you can contact me too.

If you like the small project, then please write a review and make a rating:
