Bungie lets slip...

Sure, this will be moved to the games section. But I cannot resist posting this here. Why,you ask? Because it seems that Bungie is finally owning up to Halo 3 being their next title.

Just look at the wording in this quote, from a weekly update today. On every single previous incident, they have been very guarded and specific in their language about not acknowledging what their next project is. But something's different this time...

Quote:
A few folks asked me if I was there to unveil Halo 3. I smiled and told them the usual Bungie line. We haven't announced our new project yet, blah, blah, blah. We may not have announced it, but its coming along nicely.
Look at the sentence structure. "New project" and "it" are used synonymously with Halo 3. This is probably Frankie's best attempt at making it obvious that they are working on Halo 3, without getting in trouble with the higher-ups for saying so.

In that statement it looks to me like "new project" and "it" are used synonymously with each other, but not necessarily with "Halo 3".

That's just my take on it...

I'm a psychosomatic sister running around without a leash.

I know. But they've always phrased things completely separately before, and ritualistically denied that Halo 3 is their next project. This is the first time they haven't actually done that. I guess this makes more sense if you've paid undue attention to exactly what Bungie has said oh so many times before.

Bungie is too worried about the Halo movie ... plus they said that they may not make a Halo 3 ... at least that was what I was told ...

Website

Yeah, that's pretty much it. :-\

Yeah right.

They never said that. And frankly, we already know they're working on a new project and that it isn't the movie. So I don't see any of that being true.

Holy fuck, you guys are lost!
I get special privies that I thought the majority of you would know by now:
  • Xbox360 will come loaded with live play meaning you won't have to worry about internet purchase for awhile.
  • Xbox360 comes with a special Halo3 bundle if you've got the balls.
  • Being a game related thread, Chev aka Master Thief moves to appropriate forum

Why would they make Halo 3 already? Don't they do anything else?

Who is the milkman? What is the purpose of the goggles?

I want a new Marathon game.

Marathon was the best thing Bungie ever did, particularly narratively.

The real H2 game lies within Xbox live.
THAT you'll never beat!

Yeah, seriously.

Only modders get a black hole or comet as a rank. Everyone else dreams about it, though. There's always another player or another team better than you.

So is there any innovation in games anymore or is everything sequels of games I'm already tired of?

Sequels are often innovative. I fail to see how you can assert that following a storyline or motif means that the titles must not be innovative.
