cant broadcast or create Shoutcast account :(

Hello everyone

I am using Shoutcast source 2.2.3, installed SHOUTcast Transcoder, set up port forwarding for 8000 on my router, and turned off windows firewall (is turning off the wirewall necessary?). Cant get this to connect. Source will just say "Reconnecting" over and over.

Do i need to create a profile with the shoutcast site to make my own shoutcast station? When i go to the site and select profile, i get redirected to this message.

Oooops!

SHOUTcast Profiles are offline. You do not need to create a profile in order to start a SHOUTcast Radio station. If you are looking for information on how to start your own station, please download the latest DNAS server here or see our Getting Started Guide.

I have read over many guides (alot out of date) and cant figure this out. Where it says "IP" under connection, is this my Internal or external? and if i select Yellow pages tab it says "URL" (again internal, external, shoutcast's site?)

Hope you guys can help

thanks

what about the DNAS server? as without that (assuming you're trying to do all of the broadcasting from your machine(s)) then you'll never get broadcasting.

there is no need to register anything on the shoutcast site - that only related to the v2 DNAS authhash which is now all done in-DNAS.

for all of the current officially provided tools, all of the related documentation is at http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcast_Broadcaster (as is also included in the installers).

that is the address of the DNAS server you're trying to connect to or if acting as a DJ via the Transcoder then the address of that e.g. if on a local machine then it would be 127.0.0.1.

taken from http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/Source_D...llow_Pages_Tab -> "URL : This is the url for the stream allowing listeners to view or get more information." i.e. a link to your website if you have one.
