lol, no need to resort to warez or anything silly like that. trillian3 will be out in good time with both free and pro versions. skins should work and look the same whether or not you've paid your $25... if i remember correctly, only difference with not paying is the av functions are disabled. grab the alpha if u want a sneak preview)

sorry for the standard marketing spiel, i just can't resist the temptation to promote my favourite chat client

how's progress?

ah okay. I'll think about it when drone for winamp is done, and I'll get back to you for sure if I want an official port. btw, trillian .74 with the i patch is being a bitch to me, doesn't connect to icq and crashes when I close it. luckily I only need to use msn for some work contacts.

ah and some more news, I have 215 themes done, the gammaset.xml is currently 490 kb large. who's your daddy now?
[edit]that sounded a bit cocky, I apologize [/edit]

I did use trillian, and i enjoyed it. Then i downloaded something and it messed it right up, it doesn't even let me un-install it anymore.

heh, back to the topic guys, I have a question: is it possible to put the color themes in groups to make browsing through them a little easier? I'm talking about a custom configuration window.

What I have in mind is a list of groups, themes based on: games, brands, websites, misc. I click on the game one, and it will display a shorter list of the game themes only.

yeah, its most likely possible. just put all the themes u want into one file, then get the window to show just those themes from that file, shouldn't b too hard.

hm, how about a trick, the skin still collects the themes from one xml file, but in the 'games' group every theme that doesn't start with 'games:' in its name is hidden. Would something like that work?

im not sure about that, can u even access the themes? why wouldn't my idea of the grouped themes in one file work? and then just have it so that the script u make comments out the other files with the other themes. wouldn't that work?

There is no way to change the way of changing themes except by the default window-frame. If you run themes that is made of images the thing would be totaly different, but the colorthemes are just unbreakable.

Nope, no way to group themes other than by naming them in such a way that they appear in a certain order within the list. The list itself is an internal type thing where I simply say that I want to show the color theme list, there's no control or access to what actually gets shown within that list.

I think it's the aol database that takes forever to submit a post. people think that the window is stuck, and then hit the submit button again, happened to me too. anyway, a gamecube theme is already included

btw. more theme suggestions are greatly appreciated, I'm running low on ideas.

another off topic post, but I guess that's okay since I started the thread

I downloaded the trillian 3 alpha, and I'm looking for a visually appealing and usable skins. What are your favorites? I'm currently using this aikon2 one on my .74, but it's getting a bit boring.

Note: 75% of the original imagesize

here's a status report:
I'm making minor adjustments to the existing graphics, and rpc and I are working on the easteregg song visualisations (you can see one of eastereggs on the screenshot) as well as the standard visualisations, that aren't that standard, since rpc's animating them.

Next thing to do will be the config window. After that there's only fine tuning and bugfixing left. The skin is currently 85 - 90% (roughly estimated, we might decide to include more features) done, expect to see the download link first at breedart.org

as for the trillian skins: not much has been updated for 3.0 yet. danimator's ichat is out in beta and has some new features coded. mcp has also been semi-updated, altho i don't think it is exactly what you meant by visually appealing. juz' aikon skins have always been tip-of-the-top in terms of visuals... he's frantically updating aikon3 to have the new 3 features. a lot of old 2.0, 1.0, and even 0.7x skins still work, just missing some features. visit the trillian skin forums for the latest updates

haven't been working much on it lately, due to the workload at the agency and my uni application. I doubt that there's much progress on rpc's site either he seemed to be quite busy too, sorry.
