All the plugins listed in this old thread are deprecated.
The Nullsoft MPEG-4 Decoder included with Winamp 5.5x plays all lc-aac and he-aac M4A files. You still need alac.w5s to be present in the Winamp\System folder to play Apple Lossless (ALAC) files, as included with the Essentials Pack (see "Updates and Extras" section at the bottom of the first post in the "Winamp 5.x Released" sticky thread near the top of the "Winamp Discussion" forum for download/info, or simply get it here). If it's M4P support (drm-protected crap as purchased via iTMS) that you're after, then yes, you need to install ThomasW's m4p plugin (which is not the same as the one here in this thread). It's the M4P plugin which requires Quicktime to be installed... If it's MP4 video support that you're looking for, then see here. But whatever you do, we do not recommend using anything referenced in this old thread (prior to my post, that is, heh). [edit] Updated 31 July 2011 to have a valid Essentials Pack link |

To ThomasW: Dude! Thanks SO much for this plug in. Now I can enjoy my ALAC files in WinAmp. This, along with DBPowerAmp, allowed me to ditch iTunes for ALAC encoding and listening. Sweetness!

DJ Egg the link you provided for the extra's pack no longer works. It brings you to the page alright but there is no download button. Help please.
