Not bad! But there are a few jagged edges here and there..

I think it would look better without that chrome bar at the top (or make it at least darker, like the rest)

youre right about the bar i just felt like it needed some thing to hold the main screen to the base "like its going to fall some where.
ill see how it looks if i make it darker.

i have been haviving a hard time with the jagged edges i was using the laso tool for curves and not too much luck with it il have to find a tutorial or some thing lol.

congrats!

about the "jaggies"..you could use the soften (blur) brush with low pressure, to soften the edges of the circles a bit.. in your case it wouldn't hurt, I think..

The buttons are good

better.. there is a light line in the top part of the circles, which doesn't look right.. and the buttons have jaggies, too (the plastic look is okay, I think)

Maybe you will have to redo the circles, I found a nice tutorial how you could smooth the edges of a selection..

I'm sure it works with PS7, although I only have 6

You have to play a bit with the levels... adjust them till the circle looks good.

maybe you worked on the layer instead of on an alpha channel? (pure guess..)

The new circle is great, that's how it's supposed to be

That's when you go the little "Layers" window and then click on the next tab that's called "Channels" or so.. You can see 3 layers for each color (rgb). With this button you can create a new (alpha) channel, in which you should create a white cirlce and blur it, according to the tutorial..

Originally alpha channel means the transparency I think.. (but PS doesn't display it in the channels window: if you open a png in PS you'll see the transparent areas directly, that's what I like about ps )

...I hope I wasn't too confusing

(edit: just a small thing: maybe the timer font could be a few pixels lower..it's too close to the black line imho)

Is the play button going to change to pause when you play something? 'Cause it's really useful

ok 1 more update:
1)new drawer holding quick eq band stats and bass and treble controls i use this the most.

2) not sure yet but eq drawer might be coming down from bottom insted of having the main screen move to the side.

hey nice work on the Eq. kinda like Anunaki. hehe. but better.

keep it up man, this is coming really nice.

some suggestions: maybe put in symbols instead of text on the x-fade, rep, shuffle buttons.
and i like the original drawer to the right idea with the cylinders.

Red is really okay as far as you will have colorthemes support

I like this skin design - very original. The author doesn't seem to be limited by the skinning conventions that have come before. Very nice, very innovative.

Alpha channel is a channel (like red, green, blue) that determines the transparency of the object. It ranges in value from 0-255, and PNG-32 images (like the ones used for Winamp) all have 4 channels - red, green, blue, and alpha. Usually, you have the alpha gradient on the edge of the skin so it "blends" with the windows behind it and looks purrrty.

Well, it doesn't matter if you use too much red, just give us lots of gammagroups so we can change it.

Hey, I'm red/green colorblind, so it looks fine to me

Is any of this coded yet? If not, why not? I'll offer my MAKI services.

PS: Do you like my random, detached thoughts? It's like ADD stream-of-consciousness!

edit: leechbite ,yes symbols would look preaty good but like most of the other parts of this skin,i'm still not sure how im going to go with it right now, im still trying to make the font buttons look good ,is not that i dont like symbols, lets just see what happens , im winging this skin all the way, lol.

open files, open folder and open url.

ok,one more update,

1: cleaned up the display, it had too much white shading for the display illution, i thought it was a bit too much,

2: added shadows under the labels on the display.it makes it stand out more.

3:re-did all the buttons and labels. not as dull,

im going to include if its possible, an option for swaping between text labels and symbols on the buttons.

I'd suggest moving the shadows to the right and up a bit, it would make more sense with the lighting.

Very nice, I definitly like how this skin is turning out.

true, thanks for pointing it out, newbe error.

i did some changes to the skin after my last post, that kind of changed the look, to a more armored or metalic type, also added some cf overlays to add texture.maybe a little too much.

ill fix those shadows or change the lighting position.

still no coding.

skin update.
re-did all the buttons, added a texture overlay and some visual enhancedments.
yes i desided to go with symbols intead of text, it does look better. as pointed out earlier the shadows did'nt match the light reflection so it was fixed.

plz let me know what you think and let me know of anything that looks like it needs fixing.
later!
