The topic title should be self-explained. The aO experimental interface was a prototype experimental interface - for what finished product? Another word: what the heck was justin thinkin'? not really, the aO interface was excellent - I wouldn't mind it if something like "Winamp 4" would use this interface instead of the original "three boxes of fun'n'joy". Just adding transparency and bitmap importer rather than colors would redefine the word "customizability" to whole new level.

You see, I've just recently downloaded the general purpose plugin, and immediately questions went through my head about the descrption "experimental".

But what was it intended to be? If it was just an experiment, what was the originally intended finished product?

I suspect Justin was just bored with the Winamp interface and decided to try different options on how to customize it more. No big deal...

BMP's would be a nice addition tho.

I got it about a week or so after it first came out. Back then (have there been any updates?) It was quite flawed - manged about 20 mins playtime before it crashed - but had _shitloads_ of potential. I liked it lots. Justin - roll another faaaaat one! (please)

Justin, when I was talking about transparency, this is what I meant:

1. Import bitmap.
2. You go into this selector window mode thing which allows you to select the transparency color TransTrace-style.
3. The selected area would be left transparent.

Howzat? Cool?
