Muse.Net - Turn your PCs into an Internet jukebox. Access your music from anywhere.

Hello. Rob Lord and myself are Nullsoft alumni, off doing something new but not unrelated to what we did at Nullsoft once upon a time.

It's called Muse.Net. http://muse.net/

Muse.Net allows you to turn all your PCs into a single jukebox that you can take with you anywhere. Your MP3s continue to live where they lived before, it's not a locker where you upload your music. Through the magic of Web Services, you can access your collection through a variety of clients, from our pretty DHTML/Javascript client to our simpler PHP client to a funny little tray app that gives you instant, right-click access to any of your music, from anywhere, no matter where that music is at the moment.

More detailed info: http://muse.net/faq

Muse.Net is currently in beta and we're looking for MP3 savvy folks like yourselves to help us test and give us feedback. We'll be improving things greatly in the next 30 days, including the release of Linux/OSX clients and better support for your awful NAT/firewall hardware.

Also, like Winamp we want to empower developers to get jiggy with Muse.Net. Feel free to learn Web Services or sharpen your skills programming against our WSDL or using one of our SDKs. Making your own networked media manager has not only never been easier, until now it was never possible.

Dev info: http://muse.net/dev

Enjoy, and let us know what you think. Thanks,
ian

Most interesting.

So what you're offering is a paid service that allows you to listen to your own music on systems other than your home PC. Does that mean this is a glorified broadcasting service with a limited number of 'listeners'?

Er, yes and no.

The number of listeners is limited to one. You. Wherever you are on the 'net. Herro location independence.

Muse.net is on-demand, not broadcast. You choose what music you want to play from any of your PCs, to any of your PCs, using any of your PCs.

Winamp2 plug-in coming soon. l33t public beta now @ http://muse.net/
