Help w/ the LAME mp3 encoder

Program Error

lame.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created.

That's the error I get whenever I try to use LAME with either Exact Audio Copy or the Razorlame front-end. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

I'm running Windows 2000 and I've tried using a bunch of different compiled versions.

I even copied a really old version from my old computer and that doesn't work either.

I've tried putting the lame_enc.dll file into...
the EAC dir
the LAME dir

as per people's advice.

I can't get it to work! Any help or incite would be appreciated.

I can't really help, but I can tell you how I've got mine set up because I haven't had any problems...

I'm running Win98se and have RazorLame 1.1.5 with LAME 3.91 (I've got 3.92, but there isn't an updated version of Razorlame for it, to my knowledge anyways). I've got the Lame.exe encoder in the RazorLame directory and it's set to look for it there.

And since you said that you've tried a couple different front-ends, with different versions, and nothing worked, I'm willing to bet it's a problem with Windows (what's new, eh? ). Sorry I couldn't really help.
