Shoutcast on VPS
Hello there I'm new to the forum and I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem I'm having.
I have a program called DirEttore on a VPS running Windows Server 2003 which is used to playback music, want to stream this via the Internet. So what I want to do is pass the sound coming from DirEttore to Shoutcast, I've done a bit of hunting around and found Virtual Audio Cable which seem to be what I need to use to pass the output from DirEttore to Shoutcast. But I'm able to get it working, I'm expecting to see the Virtual Cables (Line 1 etc) in the Playback and Recording sections of Windows, but they are not showing. To enable me to get the repeaters running. Anyone have any ideas how I would do this? TIA Joe |

Did you install the correct version of VAC? There's an NT/XP/Vista/7 version and then the older 95/98/ME versions.
Do the programs you use allow you to select different audio devices? Does the VPS server actually allow you to install device drivers? |

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Which version would I need for windows server 2003? The version I have is 4.12 full. And it's yes to your other questions. Thanks. |

That seems about right.
It's odd that the new virtual cables are not showing up on your system. Only things I can think of is maybe your system needs a reboot or you haven't setup any virtual cables in the VAC "Control Panel" but I thought it always setup at least one cable so I'm a bit confused. You might do better getting official support from VAC's website. |
