@CraigF
I mostly wondered why this news was posted on ten different boards before it was posted here on the WINAMP forum ... kinda weird. I'm still staring at the default skin ... it's just not right. I think I have to find a nice skins with full Winamp 2.90 support to replace it. |

Am I like the only one that doesn't see this new default skin?
I just downloaded the full install, and the skin looks to me JUST like all the other winamp skins. Chew |

This version rocks!! super fast loading and well... EVERYTHING you might want eh eh eh.
Just a couple of bugs/sugestions/questions ![]() Even if choosing "Read Titles on Load" if you add the files to a playlist from the Library Winamp only reads the ID3 tag info when playing the song. (it should display the ID3 info of all the songs added..) maybe add a "check for winamp update" button? Also is it possible to make winamp NOT show the number of the song displayed in the main player? The format is exactly how I set it except for that little number that appears on the main window. i.e I set it to >>> [ %1 | %3 ] - %2 <<< but on winamp main window the title reads >>> number. [ %1 | %3 ] - %2 (time) <<< |

Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Display
Uncheck: Show numbers in playlist Can't reproduce the other problem though... _____________________________________________ Hmm . . . has anyone posted the change log from 2.90beta2 anywhere yet? Or are we keeping that a secret too? hehe ![]() The list of fixes is HUGE! ![]() maybe I should get the ok from Justin first, or should I just post it here anyway? ![]() |

lpnsl, try a clean install of winamp. That helped me fixing some weird problems with the library, including the one you have.

damn I love Winamp, who needs Windows Media Player now?
Admitedly when Winamp3 came out, WMP handled videos better, ie, smoother and less RAM using but with Winamp 2.90, WMP is no challenge, good on you Nullsoft ![]() |

iwish that the media library would stay away from my playlist and rather use the list in the media library as the list ty play from without first moving it to the playlist. other then that it fixes everything that iteched about winamp3 but i kinda miss the wacky skins and the deeper bass sounds...

I am very happy to applaud Nullsoft for Winamp 2.90. I was afraid development to the 2.x series would halt with the release of WA3. And Wa2.9 is a damn great program.
There are still a few niggles. The new window docking engine seems to have a 'bug'. Usually when you move the main window, any docked windows move too. However, it seems sometimes now moving the main window does not result in the docked eq moving as well. |

My only tiny problem is that the buttons on the playlist with the default skin are not of the same colour of the buttons on the main player window. Other than that, I have no further complaints, only happy with 2.9.
The Internet Radio list has gotten me listening to internet radio, something that I normally never do. 2.9 is nearly perfect. ![]() ![]() |

@sanosuke
Winamp 2 Bug Reports @sammy20 Styles? You mean: EQ -> Presets -> Load -> Default? Works fine here, as long as you've saved a default first. (presets -> save -> default) @dougieha I can post the changelog, but because no-one else has, I'm kinda worried... I'll see if I can get the go-ahead first, and if so, I'll post it here. @thepyr0x ml_ipod and ml_njb (nomad) plugins are available for beta-testers, but I don't know if and when they'll be publically available. Again, I'll check for confirmation... [edit]just got confirmation that they're both very alpha-ish, and ml_njb doesn't work too well.[/edit] @skinme I can't reproduce the docking problem. Anyone else? @hitmark You know you can close the playlist window and just use the ML instead? Did I miss anything? |

Here's something I'd be happy to get some info on....
I've got this list of songs I listen to often. I go to the ML, click on Playlists that appear on the left pane and then click on "Import active (current) playlist". A playlist is created called "Imported Playlist". I then right click on this "Imported Playlist" and rename it. My question now is where can I find this Playlist in my hard drive? I search, and all I come up with is a playlist called plfAA8C.m3u in the ML subfolder. Assuming this is it, why is this not renamed? Why does it just appear renamed in ML and not actually in the c drive? Cheerios ![]() |

djegg:
my problem with the media library is that i have to move any entry i click on to the playlist (thereby overwriting the existing one) every time i click on a entry. what i would like to see is that that winamp used the search result from media library as a playlist without acualy moving them to the playlist, as in i lcik on the top entry and ip continues down the list until i tell it something else... |

For those of us who've been streaming addicts for a long time, the Internet Radio feature of the Media Library is a very cool idea. Foobar just can't compete with Winamp for streaming audio! Last edited by papadoc; 4th April 2003 at 22:21. |

Until Foobar supports bookmarks for audio streams, with the ability to add/delete/edit, a better way to start a stream, and the display of stream info (station name, song titles, bitrate, etc) then it can't compete with Winamp. Maybe these features have been added since I quit using foobar. I don't know. |

Um, just thought I should ask, but can the dev team please put the "Reset MIDI device on Start/Stop" back into the MIDI plugin. The MIDI port on the Ensoniq AudioPCI does not reset currectly so that option is needed badly. Oh, and before anybody says it, those "Reset GM,XG,GS" options do not help either.

But anyways, there's an annoying bug where Winamp keeps moving about the screen when I change my resolution or run certain other programs. So my question - Where can I get the old 2.82 version from now? I want to downgrade, I'm pretty sure the old version stayed in the top-left corner where I put it. It's getting real annoying having to move it back 5 times a day =/ Oh and why didn't they put in an opacity/transparency control? Is that just some cheap ploy to get us to use Winamp3 if we want transparency? I'm sure it could have been included in version 2 also. |
