Can someone help me out with how to stop any sounds from working while listening to mp3s on Winamp? I formatted and re-installed Windows and now when I'm listening to music all Windows, AOL, AIM, etc. wavs over ride the music. Never use to. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to the control panel and select sounds. Then either assign "none" to each of the items in the list or choose "no sounds" under Schemes.

Or try switching between waveout and directsound output plugins.

Also, make sure you have the most recent sound card drivers for your soundcard. Or switch to Direct Sound by:

Preferences (Ctrl-P) -> Plug-ins -> Output -> Select "Nullsoft DirectSound plug-in..." -> Hit Close.

It will take effect on the next MP3 played.
