After try after try for hours I managed to resubmit it. I changed the skin name, the image names, the image file types, the description but nothing happened. The last change was I omitted the spaces from the skin file name. When I made it team_mclaren_mercedes_2006 instead of team mclaren mercedes 2006 it worked. My question is: are the skin file names allowed to contain space between words? And if not, how did my first skin appeared as published since it had space in the filename.

Who knows, the database is a picky bastard at the best of times.

Anyhow, your skin has been accepted and published, should be on the site in about an hour.

Now, turn your attention to getting ready to do a Alonso version for next year

Question rejected skins CID's (150286) and (150306)

Hello reviewers,

ok my skins ar rejected because there are not skinned all main windows.

But i just colored the other windows in winamp modern defalt style.
My skinns arn't tageting on extra layouts for other windows.
I Focus layouting on the Main Window.

OK its triky to find out how to switch other windows on first time use.
These skins are for sensivive care
The user should explore the whole skin area and find ( hopefully ) the schitches integrated in the ears of the figures.

Plaese rewiew it again.

That's great, but you failed to mention which skins are yours?

Sorry, can't mind read.

Are they by any chance the Garfield skins?

If so, recolouring the base skin isn't really a good idea for the frame windows, but what really got your skins canned was there didn't appear to be any EQ windows.

No EQ, no publish.
Coloured in default base skin, no publish

You also need to read this thread to see exactly what is required for submitting a skin here.
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....hreadid=110858

In particular this bit.
Quote:
Do try to skin as many windows as possible, the current minimum accepted is..
Main player window
Equalizer (Could be part of the main or a drawer)
Control buttons should be visible (or in an easy to find drawer)
And the studio components for the playlist, library, etc.
You no longer need a Thinger, but are welcome to include one anyway.

Classic skin Racquel(159046) was rejected on terms of nudity.

I made very certain to NOT show nudity. There were lots of times I could have, but I didn't. Lot of good that did me. Anyway, if you can point out any technical nudity of any kind, I'm all senses.

Hmmm, I can see why that might have got rejected, it's a little border line between too much flesh and too little , if you know what I mean.

Maybe whichever reviewer type rejected it will come in and say why.

It's a borderline case for me, so not gonna say either way for now.

In Regards to Component: milkdrop ambient Presets(159606)
CID 159606

I just did a compilation of 1200 publicly available milkdrop presets,I actually went through more than 5000 individual files one by one and edited them for better transitions and things, its lots of hours of work (5000 presets, sifted through one by one).it looks incredible!

I am redistributing them as a pack with copyright information attributed to the respective authors. I don't want to have any credits on there myself, I just want this awesome preset pack to be distributed to everyone.

the first attempt got rejected from the Winamp website, perhaps because the installer didn't give me enough text space to be able to write the copyright information and the user guide, but I did attribute it to the respective authors.

I would like help getting it uploaded because it's probably one of the most never-ending visualisation packs ever as theres 1200 of them comprising all the best visualisations that have ever been written for milkdrop. I think it would be a really good idea to redistribute it here as well as milkdrop related websites.

I don't think it's any different to to the presets distributions that already come with the Winamp and AVS packs as far as copyright and attribution, I will be happy to help with any information that I can provide with the plug-in, include it with the official Winamp release if you want, it's pretty worthy if you check it out

Cheers, Babylon-warpdrive

So what can I do to my Racquel skin to make it 'appropriate'? I'm really asking because frankly I don't know. I have literally no clue what offends people. Nothing offends me.

Except stupidity.

Vindow(158046)

I had an email saying that my skin was rejected. It is actually an update of my skin published on the 14th of January which had 19000+ downloads. The reason I had to re-publish the skin was that whenever I edited the original upload you kept putting up the original bugged version back and not showing the updated picture.

Please can you advise

YOU DID NOT make that clear in your reply, in fact your reply contained no information whatsoever about the reason, so what you thought was obviously not clear at in any way whatsoever.

who knows if I will upload them again to amuse myself at at your misinformed and supercilious tone of writing. it certainly isn't appropriate to and dictate anything like you are God or some kind of school mistress in a huff, however you are welcome to use the imperative if you think it sounds like a proper way of corresponding.

if you had made it remotely clear what you had thought you had written, as you say, I'm sure you'd be much more welcome to use a preschool mistress tone of voice cheers.

I had written it. whether or not that came through in the automated email does not change the fact that you RIPPED other peoples work and submitted it.

If you have any other questions or comments, take it up with Rovastar, I also wrote him about it.

Well, if it's listed in your 'unpublished' section it means it hasn't been reviewed yet.

We haven't not published it, we simply have done anything with it, it's still pending a review.

If we'd flushed it, it wouldn't show at all.

C'mon, now. There's not a lick of nudity in there. Even under the eq bars she's sufficiently covering herself up.

The reason is in the unzipped file, and I'm not allowed to post that here. The answer is still no.

Try to learn to make a good skin before you submit more garbage.

Going over it centimeter by centimeter, I still find nothing. If you tell me which file is in violation or what part of the skin I might slightly alter it just to get it posted.

And I'll thank you not to use the insulting tone when I'm using common courtesy.

With your common courtesy you keep submitting skins that are borderline. Why do you do that? To see how far you can go?

In the past you also made troubles submitting skins without equalizer bars, and than you got upset about us rejecting those.

No thanks, you are not an asset.

I didn't realize I had to be an asset in order to express myself. I thought that was Germany, circa 1934-1945.

I don't make skins to push the line or try to loophole my way through. I make skins because I want to. I wanted to make it, so I did. Nothing more.

And although I don't AGREE with the mandatory equ bars, I've always submitted skins with them once the rule came into affect. See that's the definition of 'civilized'.

“One should respect public opinion insofar as is necessary to avoid starvation and keep out of prison, but anything that goes beyond this is voluntary submission to an unnecessary tyranny.” - Bertrand Russell.

So let's go over what I've done.

- Conformed to Equ bar rule
- Conformed to Video, Library and Shrunk State rule (though others haven't)
- Asked politely how to censor images Winamp.com finds offensive to please the reviewers/mods.
- Kept a calm, obedient tone despite your malice.

You, however have:

- Insulted me in every post
- Posted in a very hostile tone towards me for reasons unknown
- Given little or no reason or explanation beyond absolute 'No.'
- Called my work garbage
- Told me I am not an asset, that I am useless, when in fact is it not your position to review skins and thus without skinners you have no position or power.

I realize I am only one man, and I don't submit work often, but I've seen you and a few other reviewers/mods treat others skinners the same way. The reason I have such a history of violence, swearing, abuse and flaming on this forum is because of that. Violence BEGETS violence, so when violently assaulted, I violently assaulted back. This is how I normally am, see the difference?

So think about that, Wally, if you don't feel like just telling me what part of the skin you don't like. And just for the record, nudity doesn't equal pornography, just because you think it does doesn't make it absolute.

What I think is not important. What is important is what AOL allows on their family oriented site.

Your main problem is in the equalizer bmp, and even if you fix that, I would still say your skin is border line, but I really don't care, submit it and see if someone else wants to push the publish button. I'll leave it alone.

Hello Wally, Jonsey and all !!!

Yup it's !!!!

Just got an email saying that the skin I'd submitted was rejected. The problem is that I did not submit a skin

After a closer look it seem that Mike the Llama objects the Zero Zero skin - you remember when Mad dog (what was the name of that crazy guy ?) downrated all skin just leaving '00' as comment and our answer was this skin oh my god where are those times ... hope you're all doing fine

Dear Wally,

it's been a while, I know - I'm in fear I've almost forgotten how to skin WinAmp, but I'll give it a try when I'm back from my holidays in Cuba. Please give my best regards to all skin reviewers, and specially to Jonsey (I hope he's still around ?)
