.WAV problems

Sorry if this has been covered previously, have checked old topics but still won't work in my issue..

Some .WAV files aren't playing on my system anymore, as previously was. Some will play fine, yet some will play with no sound.

^^ As for instance, the little string that jumps during beats in a song, appears all roughly, instead of a smooth line like in working files.

That's the link to the file if anyone could check, would really appreciate it

Also bear in mind, the file does work with VLC, yet...doesn't work with Winamp or WMP. I'm probably guessing it's not a Winamp issue, but if someone knows what's stopping it to play, please let me know!

it plays for me, but its an abnormal wav in the sense that its one channel, 22khz, and 88kbps.

also, its a very short file and winamp doesn't like short files.

the graphics also work for me, maybe you should click on yours? get them working as you like with a "normal" file.

what does it say? i can't make it out...

My bad, just realized the graphics change when clicked, haven't done it in years so mind that

But yeah, the file just doesn't want to play the sound at all. Like mentioned before, it plays but can't hear anything. I'm still wondering why it plays in VLC Player yet not in Winamp nor WMP.

It did use to work before fine though, so I'm not sure what has happened to suddenly not.

Also the file says..Biohazard 2, the Japanese title for Resident Evil 2.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but the problem is still occurring.

Nothing has changed driver wise and haven't installed any recent 3rd party plugins. It's just odd some will work yet some files won't, but all will play in VLC?

normal WAVE files are exactly 1411.2 kbps I think, you should try another wav that is not in 22khz and that is in 44khz... try converting any song with the output plugin "disk writter" and play that song.... if theres no problem it must be your file (remember if you want to convert any file with the output plugin I told you, dont forget to mark again the direct sound output)

I tried loading your WAV file into GoldWave, and it gave me the following prompt:

Quote:
Wave file does not have a valid 'fact' chuck and the number of samples cannot be accurately determined.

Open anyway?
You probably just need to load it into an editor and resave it.
