Yeah, but I never understood that one. You can accomplish the same thing by simply unchecking "put aol music icons on desktop" in the regular "Full" installer.

betanews.com

Their sneaky people find all the new alpha, beta, rc, and full releases before most anyone else.

It was likely pulled because a last minute bug fix was implemented, you can blame me for that it might have been the one I spotted , so the version you may have downloaded isn't the final one yet, until you see it here at.

http:\\classic.winamp.com\download

Then it's not final..

Yeah, if you got the version where hi-lighted text & background in the ml is the same color with 2.9x-ready skins (eg. Fusion, etc), then this is one of the bugs fixed in the latest build.

ie. This bug is now fixed.

Please please please do NOT distribute the version you downloaded ('duh' too).

Yes, it was on the nullsoft server, but now it's not.
So it wasn't a leak like last time, but call it a last minute bugfix.
Just don't ask us when it will be back up again and final.
I even think it's been pulled from betanews.com (I can't find it there?)

What Sawg says is true.
It's not Final until you see it on classic.winamp.com

Dang!

Yep, totally agree here with Egg .

I don't get the confusion at all, as long as it's not on classic.winamp.com, expect it to be a leaked beta or RC with possible bugs inside not meant for public. As easy as that .

True... but this problem is not there for all 2.9x ready skins.... Star Audio, XPAmpace and Construction Paper Winter are three skins that I have that work without signs of those bugs.... Unless the authors worked ahead in anticipation of 'em

Links are working again.
Please delete any old buggy beta installers and download afresh.

It's definitely kosher if it's on download.nullsoft.com
It becomes official when it's on classic.winamp.com
(site usually gets updated on Thursday)

Loving it!

Yeah I noticed that bug right away, and assumed it had something to do with the genex.bmp, so I fixed up all my skins even before the fixed release came out.
I was wondering when that feature was gonna be added. I always thought it kinda ruined a skins look when it used default Windows theme colors that usually didn't match the Winamp skins. Skins look great now though.

Who told you it was there? Was it the infidels? It was never there and it will never be there.

Confirmed, the download links have obviously been taken offline again. I keep getting 404 errors as well, weird.

Fuck this all, let's just wait for it to appear on classic.winamp.com .

Meh, I'm with you on that one. There are plenty of mirrors of the unfixed copy. :-\ Maybe they'll rename to something like 2.95a due to so may people already getting their hands on a build with the bug.

I don't get it why they upload a non-final version for public use anyway . The news spread fast, and lots of people end up having a buggy beta on their rigs.

I think that Nullsoft should just keep the betas / non-finals in a password protected area on their servers just for beta testers' access only. Makes it worse that these betas or RCs don't have any hint of being a beta inside anyway .

I'll just wait for the new WA2 to appear on classic.winamp.com, that way we all can be sure it actually is the final version meant for public use.

Here's a phrase I haven't used for a while on the forums,
which sums things up quite nicely . . .

"what a shemozzle!"

shemozzle shi-moz'l,(slang) n: a mess; a scrape; a rumpus.
[Yiddish, from Ger schlimm bad, Heb mazzal luck]
